Thanks. I just saw the 5 ring one made in china. Was just pointing out that there are sumo knock offs. Not sure how they compare/perform.

You can do it, some of the wires are still glued on the SR5. Just reglue them when you put it back in. Removing the upper handles front and rear was the trickiest part. Best part is you don’t have to worry about folding it, just back it out the back window.

Very curious how they compare as I am considering the 40 version if anyone knows.
    Sumo from US company $270-$300
    Knock off from US $150-$170
Knock off from Ali Exp $60-$70

The outside edges come off with a pick tool. The pick goes behind the small pieces on the outside edge and gets pulled downward or outward, I can’t remember at the moment.

Not today, but Friday. Installed this stuff. Brought it level after the RAS in the rear.

I know - I need an “after” pic.

You are correct. After you pop the cover off. You take 2 pick and pry the upper and lower clip inward. This will release the handle.

Got the replacement safe and installed it.

The truck had the center console storage tray which has the riveted rails which I drilled out. First time dealing with rivets, probably could have done it cleaner:

    Rivets.jpg

I was wondering if the hidden portion of the rivet would drop out and rattle around, but as it turns out to slide safe in I had to remove the console armrest (i.e. the top portion) by removing the rear trim piece with the rear AC vents to access screws. There I saw the rest of the rivets and wondering if it might have been easier to just cut them out from the backside perhaps (found a little friend in there too). I'm guessing if I were to remove the trim piece in front of the console (the top of the shifter, cup holders, etc.), I'd be able to do the same and fish out any mangled rivets.

    Backside.jpg

Anyways, took longer then I thought mostly cause of user error, but its in and works for what I need.

Finally broken in. Now deciding whether to keep it forever or go for a new one. Hate to loose the V8.

4 years and 3 months to get to 100,000. It’s my daily driver.
