I have never smoked a cigarette in my life, but I used to dip. Then I quit and for some reason started using Swedish snus after I got married. Yes I got hooked and use too much. This is what I use and I love it. Some day I do need to quit though. I guess the good news is Sweden has far and away the most snus users in the world, and very low smoking rate because everyone uses snus, they have the lowest cancer rates including lung, oral and throat. That said I wouldn't recommend taking up snus of you currently don't use some other form of tobacco. Swedish snus does not contain the chemicals found in snus made by American companies such as camel. It has tobacco, water, salt and flavoring

Hmm. Idk if I could give up mint Copenhagen, but this may be good for situations where a spitter is frowned upon (meetings for work, etc.). Where do you buy it?

I think they sell it at most smoke shops. I know I seen it behind the counter at the Chevron station today.

2 local cigar shops sell it near me but the price here in CT just doubled to $8 A tin so I buy online right from Sweden for about $3-4 A tin including shipping. If you go to generals website they have a store locator

Yeah its stored in the fridge and I store mine in the fridge. If it's gets warm it does seem to change flavor and the pouches get kinda wet.

I do the Camel snus and can't quit. Up until about two years ago when on motorcycle trips with my buds we'd smoke cigarettes the entire time (Up to 3 weeks) and I could always stop upon return home with no problem with addiction, but this snus shit is hard to quit because it's so easy to use. No stinking and no spitting. I leave it at home while on vacation and stuff trying to quit, but the minute I get home I start grinding my teeth and jonesing hard. It's crazy. The bright side is I haven't smoked a cigarette in two years.

yes indeed. Thats what I buy. I message pouches for when I use at work. Can't have a mess in my teeth lol. Unfortunately I use pretty much the entire time in my 12 hour shift, usually a half a tin a day, sometimes more :(

@Hoologan I highly recommend, if you must snus, to switch to Swedish snus that doesn't have all the nasty chemicals that are found in Camel

I need to quit too. I'm going to try ZYN non tobacco nicotine pouches recommended by @15whtrd I have tried other non tobacco pouches but hated them all, these do contain nicotine so hopefully that'll go better.

I used Copenhagen for a long time. If I even tried any flavored dip, I would puke within 15 minutes. It got so bad that even being around it would make me sick. I no longer use tobacco products on a regular basis, but a clove cigarette or good cigar is always welcomed.

One day, I just said enough was enough and quit, cold Turkey.

That's awesome. I think that'll be what I end up having to do once and for all. I tried once and the withdrawals were terrible. So bad I thought about taking up smoking lol

I've tried it and it's not bad, I just never had a taste for mint or wintergreen. Guess I've been dipping Copenhagen for way to long to switch lol.

Mine decision was strictly financial. Unless I found a 3 pack of chew, it was almost 6.00 per can. I can kill myself many other ways that are more enjoyable.

I would only chew at work, and once in a while at home. My cans would dry up before I used them most of the time.

So I took up black tar heroine. Way better choice.

You guys are nuts, throw that crap in the garbage. Just look at your teeth, they are so important especially as you age. I chewed when I was younger, got about 5k in getting my gums fixed, even if you quit your gums continue to go bye-bye. No woman wants a man with a mouth full of hillbilly dirt.

I’ve used nicotine for the last 30 years. The last five I’ve been using the General Original Snus.
I have been tobacco free for the last five days!!! For the first time in my life my body and brain are experiencing life without nicotine.
I quit by buying the 21 mg patch at Target. I wore the whole patch for 4 days, then I cut them in half and wore them for 5 days and then cut them in quarters and wore them for 5 days. After that fifth day I didn’t even want to put that quarter patch on and didn’t have any withdrawals at all.
Good luck if you are going to quit! I know for me it is one less crutch, one less thing I have to drag around and will be a hell of a savings.

I don’t like being dependent on tobacco at all.
I’ve had a nasty pack a day habit for over 20 years. Started at 13 and the habit became a pack a day at 18. Im 39 now sadly. I’ve tried cold turkey and it didn’t work for me. Tried the vape... not my bag. I’ve started using these tobaccoless nicotine pouches similar to snus. They’ve been working for me. I do use the snus about once or twice a day at the moment to curb my smoking habit. But for the rest of the day I use this product called ZYN and it’s giving me my nicotine fix in pouch form. One step at a time for me.

I’d like to get completely off all of it. But at least lose the tobacco. I think I can live with just nicotine. I’ve cut my smoking down to about three cigarettes a day now. I’m lucky I take care of myself in every other way but this, as I do not have very noticeable signs of being a 25 year smoker.

My mom is a light smoker and my dad when he was alive smoked three packs a day at one point. He died from cancer, but not lung cancer. I’ve been around smoking on my life so it was inevitable when I became a smoker. Gross.

I sell the General suns in my stores and we always keep them refrigerated. The distributor I get them from also transport them in the refer part of the truck so the products don’t degrade in the heat. It’s a premium product so it does sell but nowhere near Copenhagen or grizzley.

I chewed a can a day for several years. It was kind of a "meal in a can". Stuck on a long detail? Can't eat? Grab a chew. Did it for years, then quit cold turkey. That was a difficult 6-8 weeks.
Random, but interesting side note. When I joined the L.E. agency I work for I would see the guys carry their chew in their sock on the inside of the ankle. Always thought that was weird. When I started chewing, I figured out why. When seated in the cruiser, a can of chew in the sock provided easy access whilst seated and never spoiled the clean lines of the uniform. An in-print of a can in the back pocket would be sure to catch the ire of a boss.

Chewed Copenhagen for about 35 years. Quit a little over two years ago. It took two years for the urge to buy it every time I passed a store to abate.
Told my wife that when she dies I'm going to start it up again.

I’ve been dipping and chewing tobacco for about 30 years now. I’ve been using Copenhagen for the last 15. I feel like a slave to it but anytime I get stressed or finish a meal it’s my go to. I need to try this stuff out. So it has tobacco in it but you don’t have to spit? Did I read that correctly?

General is SNUS. Yes, it doesn’t need to be spit. It is regarded as a very safe alternative.
In fact, in Sweden there isn’t even a warning label on the can and I believe no age restrictions. The warning on the can is because the US made them put it on to sell in the US.
The reason it’s safer is because of pasteurization. This method doesn’t introduce all of the carcinogenic shit that fire drying tobacco does. Like all US tobacco.
It is definitely more safe but don’t kid yourself into thinking it’s 100 percent safe..
