Can't be too many Tundras on OKI. Your Tundra is a bit bigger than a Daihatsu..haha! Semper Fi

You're right. Not many and most definitely bigger than a Daihatsu. Hell, my little Hijet truck can fit in the bed of my Tundra.

I drove a Diahatsu similar to that on my second tour to Iwakuni. I'd take to the mountains all the time. Easy to get it unstuck. I like that HiJet..

Great little trucks. Just need a bit more power:muscleflexing:. 57 HP is a wee bit under powered but my Tundra makes up for it. ;)

I'm talking to a coworker now. Retired Army. He was stationed there 72 to 75. I was there off and on from 80 to 84. Usually for only a week but one time for almost 2 months. That was a lot of fun. Lot's of snorkeling and diving. Some of the best.

wow. that's pretty cool but how long did it take to get it imported? one of the FJ guys i ran around with in San Diego was a Navy guy who got transferred and it took almost forever for his FJ to get in. he did find a pretty active group of off roaders. beautiful country. loved getting his photos.

I purchased mine from an importer up in Nagoya. The importers have this down to a science and can get vehicles through the import and inspection process in a week or two. We the buyers just have to deal with the stiff fee and import tax which can range upwards of 30-40%. If I imported it myself, it would have been a struggle which I didn’t want to contend with so I opted to buy on the local economy. Japan is a great country and living here has been an absolute privilege.

Haha! Without a doubt! Great for whipping U-Turns in the middle of the road just about anywhere and travelling down some of the super narrow residential roads "alleys" out in the sticks.

Welcome from Oregon. Spent a few years of my life over there. Got to drive a right hand drive Surf while I was there. No license so that was s big deal for me lol. Also had some Taco Rice last Sunday. And weirdly enough was talking to another Marine I work with about some Habu Sake just yesterday.

First New Years on island at the little bar down “Sobriety Hill” from Futemna I had three shots of that stuff. Still cringe just thinking about it.

I wouldn't want to drive any vehicle much less my truck anywhere around Tokyo. Tokyo traffic is absolutely terrible as with trying to find any parking. Trains & subways are the mode of transport when I go there. I'm in Okinawa which is significantly better for driving larger vehicles although some roads and areas are a bit challenging.
