    Hey all,

I added a Toytec/Eibach 3/1 to my 2018 CM in super white (fastest color) and have read about guys adding carrier bearing drop kits because they notice "drive line vibrations". What exactly does that feel like? Would I know it if I had that problem? I have a slight vibration in the gas pedal that wasn't there before (I don't think), but I also added larger tires, if that would even make a difference. Is there any down side to the drop kit? Should I just add it because I lifted my truck and they're cheap anyways? Thanks!

You’d know when you accelerate from a dead stop.

Ok, thanks. My vibration is constant and barely noticeable. I don't notice anything when accelerating from a stop.

What's your total lift up front? If more than 2.5" I think it's recommended to use a front differential drop kit.

Diff drop kits are only for 4x4?

What's so fast about white? We all have same engines, only fast ones are ones with S/C

If you lift the rear of your truck, its said you'll need the carrier bearing drop. I have 2" blocks in the rear, I haven't done it, yet. I'm planning too soon. They say all you need is 3/4" shim for 3" lifts. In another thread I read someone got his spacers from lowes for under $2 , and reused his bolts. Made a difference

I may just do it even though I'm not sure if I need to. The kit from Toytec is only $12. Maybe I'll look around at Lowe's, thanks for the info.

What's the difference from diff drop or a carrier bearing kit......or Is it same thing just different terms?

Front differential drop lowers your front differential in order to reduce the angle of your front drive shaftes after adding a lift to the front of the truck.

The carrier bearing supports the drive shaft towards the rear of the truck. Adding a drop kit to that does the same thing, helps correct angles to the drive shaft after lifting the rear.

At least that's how I understand it, I'm definitely not a pro when it comes to this stuff.

I'm experiencing the same thing with a 2" block in rear, it's slight but it's there and driving me crazy. Did your spacer eliminate the problem? Did you also do the driff drop? Thanks!

Same here. I dug through my box-of-bolts and found two 3/4" spacers that fit perfectly. No more shudder.

Just installed my RC kit today.

Still need to see if it helped (just installed it a bit ago).

    Super easy and quick install.

All you need is the kit and a way to unscrew/screw bolts. :D

Others have mentioned (in various places) a jack to support the drive shaft. I didn't need one (and you shouldn't NEED one if you do it correctly - at least on a 2nd gen Tundra [but always be safe!]). I just gave some lift to my shaft with my shoulder to make it easier to manipulate (and make sure it wasn't going to fall incase a bracket or something broke). However, I have enough space to sit Indian style under the truck and rest my shoulder under it (ymmv). So set up a couple jacks if you want to for safety, but it wasn't required for my fix (assuming you follow the correct instructions when loosening up the existing connections.

Oddly enough the head size of the RC bolt was larger than that of the stock Toyo one.

Also, does anyone know the ratio of lift to drop we should (optimally) use? Seems that most? kits are about the same size.

    Just found this:

A general starting place would be ¼” of carrier bearing drop for every 1” of additional lift in the rear.

Does that comport with what else anyone has heard?
