It's a little plastic strip that gets wedged between the wheel and tire that's supposed to help protect against road rash.

    Ever use them?
    I’m looking for a user’s review.

They look like training wheels for people that don't know how to drive.

I haven't seen that exact style / brand but I have installed several sets of a different style. The name escapes me right now but I can look at work in the morning. The ones I've done have a small U channel that sticks to the wheel and different colored inserts that snap into the channel. If I remember correctly, they run around $200. I put one set on a coworker's Escalade in the spring and they've held on very well thru heat, rain, cold, snow, carwashes and his girlfriend driving it.

OK. That was easy. I thought they looked cheesy and way too cheap but maybe I could have been wrong. Looks like I wasn't.

Honestly, it seems like a waste of money.
With as much tire wall as most of us have (oversized tires) I doubt curbs are a problem unless they’re boulder sized or unless you’re rocking 28” wheels with 2” of sidewall LOL

We had some big ass curbs in Memphis and I only have 33” tires with 18” wheels. Never scratched my wheels up despite rubbing against a few curbs. (And the occasional parking lot hop) LOL

Not to mention, they look like shit. Yeah.

    Yes sir! High and dry!

With the great flood of 16 down here, I was never more happy I put in a 3” lift. Was going through water up to my headlights at 5 am, no street lights and 4-6 foot ditches on both sides ...I was scared shitless, but the tundra took it like a champ!
