Hey man I have the 87 tune right now and was curious if your tow/haul gear lock works? It doesn’t do anything for me.

I'm bone stock and staying with 87. The only thing I wanted was the gear lock. Thanks again.

In my email Matt told me to flash the 87 base and then let him know what I wanted. I want the gear lock as well.

No. It's a feature that can/will be added later. These are just basic beta tunes. And I think that the Tow/Haul will be used for map switching, were S-Mode will be used for Gear Lock.

@OVTune I guess that clarification on this subject could be addressed. Are we running basic beta tunes for you for logging purposes, or do we have the option to request Gear Lock and Map Switching features at this stage?

Unless it was requested in your initial order email chain we sent you our base tunes for logging, and then we enable features that you.

Also, after we finish up this dyno tomorrow, we have a whole bunch of goodies to release to you guys that we have been working on for some time now. They will all be incorporated into whatever your current tune is at (either base, or revision from logging). No exact ETA on that right now but it won't be long.

Likely the last "major" update for a while so that we can continue with fine tuning individual trucks

    Thank you much!

I think that I am going to wait until the extra goodies are released and I get some more logs sent back before I make any feature requests. That seems like the simpler route to go. That also sounds more streamlined for Mat.

Im late to the review party.

Bought during the 4th of July sale and received my tune files on 8/23 and flashed the same day. Was out of town the following week, so didnt get to drive much.

Let me preface and say: I suck at reviewing products (just being honest)...I mean I tell my wife its good when she cooks:rofl:

My truck is NA and just has a drop in AFe filter and BAmuffler. Before the tune, it felt like the truck was missing some ummpphh from a stop...took longer to shift and get up to speed.
After the tune the truck seems more responsive more pronounced shifting (primarily D mode) more noticeable downshifts (esp. with the BAmuffler). I sometimes have to consider how much pressure to put on the peddle, cuz the truck just wants to go!

Hope the feedback helps. Looking forward to all the features OV has in store!

EDIT: back to my 15mpg after flashing and doing data logging for OV...still on my initial tune version.

We will have some dyno results to go over with you guys tonight. Some interesting things.
This is a completely independent dyno result, out of state truck. We want to show you guys what we really mean about our Torque Potential

Apologies if you've already answered this, but its a looong thread haha

Does your tune prevent the truck from pulling power when you're trying to get over big rocks?? Like in this video:

Quick questions... for you guys that have pedal commander. After you have the tune do you still use your pedal commander?

There are 1rst gear throttle limits in 4x4 mode, which we can eliminate. So even if you are at full throttle in 1rst gear and 2nd gear, you're not necessarily getting "full throttle".

    We can modify this.

Legally we cannot without a form of proof the truck is used exclusively off road. Other companies that may offer this will likely end up in big trouble eventually.

How does the process work once I buy? Like, how do I request this feature?

Okay everyone. Some more dyno results to show you guys.
First this truck has stock headers and catback exhaust. No other power modifications.

    Octane of choice: 93 octane
    Tune options >
    Gearlocking
    Expanded VVT
(and more to come for him with dialing it in).

    First.

The truck was previously tuned for 93 octane. So the owner decided to test out the previous tune vs stock tune, before flashing over that tune with custom features tune.
Unfortunately, tested on an Independent dyno jet, the truck made less power than stock.
RED = other 93 octane tune / flash.
    BLUE = STOCK
Testing was all performed same day, same conditions, same tank of gas.. (minutes apart). I have no interest in naming the company, we are only interested in showing the results as tested, all conditions constant.

    Dyno run image 1.jpg

Next, our Gearlocking tune was loaded and tested. This showing the large torque potential increase that we were trying to explain to you guys. Unlike stock which is normally impossible to obtain, our Gearlocking tune you have a torque potential difference of 150-170+ Ft lbs use-able in the lower RPM range without the transmission blocking you out. This is a phenomenal difference is use-able torque, especially when towing.

    dyno result image 3.jpg

Finally, timing was limited but we made some further improvements for the truck as you can see here, smoothing out and increasing power, and removing the extreme rich situations up top that you see on stock trucks. With peak gains from 3500 rpm through 5000 rpm of 30+ ft lbs / 20 + ft lbs / and increased horsepower as you can see. testing on this file was after 9+ runs and plenty of heat soaked time, unlike IDEAL conditions of the very first runs (pre-stock tune test). For more power to be obtained up top, we have a bit more work to do on the torque converter, and replacing the stock header with some aftermarket ones. (We are working on some very nice high flow CATTED headers to remain legal).
unfortunately the dyno operator kept lifting earlier even though the limiter was set at 6500..

    Dyno run image 2.jpg

    Conclusions,
Our gearlocking tune is the ultimate way to expand your USABLE torque from 2000 to 5000 RPM, where the engine is normally neutered due to transmission control.

    Regarding gearlocking,
gearlocking will be updated to be S-mode only controlled, so that you can use it with and without the Tow / haul button (optional).

This is the real tune for a Tundra! Still testing my o2 spacers if it’s not gonna throw cel. If not I’ll buy this in a heart beat!
