    Hello everyone,
So I was reading several posts in here about upgrades done for our trucks. I researched a bunch of different sources such as,
    1. Using the existing head unit, and upgrading speakers and amp.
    2. Upgrade using Taco Tunes or something similar.
    3. Upgrade to a complete whole system.

I ended deciding on option #3, for the reason, I had some car audio gear I could reuse.

My system consists of the following.
    Head unit:
    Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX
Allows Apple Car Play, 7” display, wireless mirroring. HD radio,

    Amplifier:
    Alpine PDX-5 (5-Chanel amp)

    Speakers
    JL Audio
    Fronts 6.50 components
    Rears 5.25 coaxial

    Subwoofer:
JL Audio 10” sub (Custom box)

    All doors are dynamat material.

So overall I really like how the system turned out. It sounds 100 percent cleaner then stock. I’m now able to use Waze as my preferred navigation app. HD radio, and Spotify sound really good on the system.

I like the look of the HU. I need a HU that displays real time tire pressure. Might seem weird but it's really helpful when you're off road and changing air pressure frequently.

Looks great! Can you connect Sirius XM tuner to this headset? How was the install? I would like to replace my stock radio.

    Warren, You are a genius!
Did some quick research and I didn't think of the tire pressure makes perfect sense. To answer your question you can in fact use this head unit to show TPMS readings. The unit comes equipped with a iDataLink® Maestro™ compatibly. The head unit supports the iDataLink protocol, this device can read various diagnostic data from the OBDII port on the vehicle and translate it into a human friendly format in association with the head unit. It turns out that the tire pressure sensor readings are available on the OBDII port's K-Line in our Toyota's, so I now can display the readings from each tire individually, no more guessing as to which tire is low.

It requires a setup process by which you deflate each tire in turn, according to a prompt on the screen, to get the Maestro RR device to associate the sensor IDs with tire locations on the vehicle. As it learns each location, it will "tap" the horn to let you know to go to the next tire. You can check the iDataLink Maestro website to see what capabilities the Maestro RR supports for your vehicle. In many cases, it will replace the factory radio with no loss of functionality. For example, if you set environmental controls via the touch screen on your factory radio, the Maestro RR will likely carry that capability over to the aftermarket head unit. The Maestro RR also translates steering wheel controls to a format the head unit can use for appropriate functions.

Get a headunit that is plug and play compatible with idatalink maestro RR and you can have that feature. I have an older kenwood head unit with a maestro rr that cam be programmed to integrate the steering wheel controls and a lot of OBDII computer info including individual tire pressures

Which model do you have Sean? I spend too much on suspension and don't wanna spend a ton on a head unit.

It would depend on what you want to spend. When it comes to Car Audio, sky's the limit.
If you have any skill set to take apart door panels and trim pieces. You could save money.
Contact James at Tech12volts, He's a great guy for a lot resources. I bought some of my components from him.

I picked up a lightly used kenwood ddx9902s I believe is what the model number is. It has wired android auto which is fine with me after reading about issues with wireless. I usually just stream pandora via BT and what is nice is I can control pandora via the headunit and steering wheel controls. Compatible with my OEM backup cam but doesn't have an input for another camera, I think it's a 2015 model but it works find and sounds good to me.

Does your pioneer 4400nex have Maestro rr built in; or was that a separate install? I really want that vehicle info to display on my 2016 pioneer 8200 NEX, just dunno what I need to make that happen. Everything I read about maestro talks about it integrating steering wheel controls, yada yada yada, but I’ve already got that...just want the vehicle info and tire pressure info...know anything about that? Thanks, nice install, we’ve got similar setups...

Maestro RR with TO2 harness will provide this via the obdII plug/wire as long as your head unit is maestro compatible

The Maestro/Datalink is what integrates your headunit with the steering wheel controls as well as provides the vehicle info. It is part of the install with the headunit, it is separate from the headunit basically a harness with a controller that links the radio to the truck to provide the additional functionality.

So, seeing that I already have my HU installed and my steering wheel controls work great to control HU now, are you saying that if I wanted maestro rr (specifically for the vehicle/obd2 info.) I’d have to re-wire my HU as if I were installing it new? And whatever means they integrated the steering wheel controls would need to be removed in order for maestro to control buttons? I feel like I’m really missing something here...

You are now above my pay grade, someone else will need to chime in on this. I missed the part where you already had working steering wheel controls but yes pretty sure for you to get the vehicle info to work your HU would need to be pulled and some rewiring done.
