So not sure if it’s an upgrade but I ended up getting a pretty good deal on some Bilstein 4600 that has a 2” leveling kit already installed on the shocks but I’m looking to replace my stock shocks on my 1794 to the 4600’s
I also ended up purchasing CB+2, my goal is to have the truck leveled but maintain the factory rake. :monocle:Would my setup (goal) work? Any input would be greatly appreciated

First off in order to keep factory rake you need to lift both the front and the rear the same height. Since you have a 2 inch leveling kit, you need to lift the rear 2". You bought the coachbuilder +2 but unfortunately that shackle only will give you 1.25 inches of lift in the rear. With that setup you will lose 3/4" of rake. the +3 coachbuilder should give you 1.75" of lift so you'll only lose 1/4" of rake.

Now that I answered your question here are a few things to know.
The 4600 shocks and coils will ride rough on your truck. Not to mention it sounds like your planning on installing a spacer lift, which can damage your suspension. If you're planning on keeping the truck on the pavement just picking up kids and such then I'd say you will probably be ok with these shocks and lift (except for the harsh ride). Some guys run spacers but they may further degrade the ride of your truck. (I had the TRD package ie 4600 shocks all around and I hated the harsh choppy ride.)
For around a 1000 dollars you could have an actual suspension lift that will increase ride quality, Performance, and ride height. Also adjustable https://www.4wheelparts.com/p/bilst...ogle_1749763888_65275301221__pla-530275848868

these are the fronts. The rears you can go a few different ways but these are commonly paired with these... https://www.4wheelparts.com/p/bilstein-5160-series-shocks/prod40017 .

I went with this setup and highly recommend it as a budget friendly MOD that you will feel everytime you drive your truck. Good Luck!

    What he said...

I have the set up above with coach builder shackles (after a rear block lift that I removed and would gladly give away) You have a nice truck.

I would add... IMO, as well, spacer lift is not a good ride and affects how she handles and feels on the road. What you do, you will experience every inch you drive this truck moving forward.

Thanks fellas for the advice, so I’ll end up having to save up for 6112/5160 but I could at least level the truck with 4600s and the level kit and wait to install the CB+2 until I get the 6112s? I shouldn’t have any issues with that right ?

The 6112 is an adjustable lift/leveling kit with coil over springs. I paid about $350 (glad I did) for a complete install front with unmounted springs, rear shocks , and alignment. I am not familiar with the 4600 level, so can’t answer your question definitively, but unless you install them yourself, you will spend money that you could put toward the 6112’s? I am cheap, and money saved = more mods, so, unless my saving for these things would need to be long term, I would sell what I have while it’s in good shape and only do it once

I hear ya man, I am definitely gonna install them myself. I’m just torn cause I spent the $275 for the 4600 with the leveling kit which only had about 1000 miles on them. With the setup I have it sounds more or less of a leveling kit rather than keeping the factory rake?

You should not have any issue but why do it twice. You could also go with the bilstein 5100's and that would probably be an ride upgrade as well just not as drastic as the 6112. In my honest opinion, I know you already spent some money but I would never put those 4600 back on my truck ever.

For what its worth you can also take that spacer off and install it over your current front coilovers as well. The 4600 are the same ride height as stock. You'd probably have a smoother ride this way. There are so many options you just have to decide what you want out of this.

Went from stock trd offroad( not sure if those are 4600) shocks to 5100. Noticeable improvement. Although would recommend 6112 as well

So, I get it now, I have the TRD and what you bought is is what I had on before. They are a decent shock, but 6112 set-up is hands down much better so hard to really compare the two IMO. A plus is with only 1k miles they have some value.
I would think long term. Coach builder shackles are your best current item. It’s a great company and they might be willing swap you if your set is still brand new and you purchased from them.
I installed the 6112 set before I did the rear lift with a setting of 1.9. The truck was leveled, looked great and drove well. I added a 1 inch block and soon after the shackles for a 1/2 inch gain. It still has a slight rake.
I wouldn’t waste those new shackles on a temporary lift. Like the previous post suggested, if you want to ultimately end end up with more of a rake at the top setting on the 6112’s, this will be determined by the rear shackles.

lOL it’s a lot to consider and there is even more . Personally, unless you are in need of new shocks on your truck, I would delay gratification and cash out of what you bought, and get the final setup. But if you want to level the truck with a stiffer ride right away, then go for it.
I read every thread I could find on lifts for quite a while before settling on the setup people are recommending. And even then, I foolishly cheaPedroso out with a block lift in the back and they were right about that too... right about headlamps, figs, and exhaust, and on and on

I’m essentially in the same boat as OP. It seems every truck is different and every truck owner is different. Some people say they put in a 2” spacer and it rides the same. Some say it rides rough. Some say 5100s on top setting is rough, but middle setting is good. I bought a 2” aluminum spacer before doing research online and on this forum. Haven’t put it on yet. Waiting for my wheels to come in so I can have it all done at once. I can’t make up my mind. Put in the spacer? 5100s or 6112s? I just want it level. 2019 2WD CrewMax

I ended up going with the 2” spacer with the coach builder + 2 to get a little bit of rake. It all depends what your needs are. My truck for the most part will be a “ pavement princess” Hope this helps a bit!!!

Bilstein 6112, 5160, Coachbuilder 1” shackle lift, Wildpeak A3’s, LED backup, Maxiplus mats, Bak Rollover Mx4, BedRug, Westin HD Headache Rack. Westin HD Brush Guard, Spidertrax 1.5 spacers. TRD Brakes. Headlight Revolution LED. TRD rear Torsion Bar. Dirty Deeds 10 inch Stainless. TRD Pro Grill. Bushwhacker Pocket Flares. Baja Designs Combo Driving/Fog lights.
6112’s at middle setting is a leveling kit. This is what I started with and later added coach builder shackles 1”. There is a dramatic difference in ride and handling from OEM. Is it stiffer? Slightly, but handling and feel in the road is more than worth it.
I wouldn’t do spacers. Maybe some coach builder shims on the drivers side. I have a couple of new ones lying around somewhere. I got them after installing the coil overs and it’s too much of a PIA to retrofit at this point.
Mine has the 1/2 inch net rear shackles lift. Otherwise it’s straight 6112’s at middle setting.
