I have looked at other post and still have not found a definitively clear answer... Can someone please let me know what is the recommend lugs (black) for Icon Six speeds. Links would be great. I really appreciate the help.

I'm gathering all material to install in the same window. I will post pictures and details to help others moving forward.

Scuba... Thank you very much. These are to be hand tight opposite each lug prior to torquing completely to ensure wheels is centered correct? Someone brought up a concerning about the wheel being centered correctly and having a vibration at high speeds because these are not lug-centric. Make sense?

The icon wheels are lug centric not hub centric. They will be centered by the lugs.
OE Tundra wheels are centered on the hub to provide vibration free ride. It is okay to use lug centric wheels on a vehicle that originally comes with hub centric wheels provided the correct lugs are used.
Lug tightening should be done in a star pattern on any wheel regardless if it is hub centric or lug centric.
Extended thread lugs are recommended for any Tundra running aftermarket wheels because the front wheel studs are shorter compared to most vehicles. Not having enough thread engagement is a safety hazard and can cause vibrations within itself.
The ET lugs would not center the wheel any better than non ET lugs. They simply provide more thread engagement.

    Fifteen52 wheels, rolling on tires.
So, can we get extended lugs at the tire place, or do we purchase separate, like the link you provided? I got a 17" by 8.5 0 offset wheel with a 110.3 hub bore, so it should be hub centric since Tundra is 110.1. Correct?

Do not use ET lugs on six speeds, they are not made for them, and will cause problems.

Vizsla.... The link Scuba provided are not the correct lugs then? All the research I have done has contradicting opinions. This the reply I received from ICON.... I don't know why I cant get a link for the correct lugs. Can someone tag ICON and see if we can please put this to bed.

Thank you for your purchase. Unfortunately I don’t have a link I can send you. the lug’s we recommend are 60° taper acorn style lug nuts. Any local auto parts store or wheel shop should be able to source some for you. I know some of our local customers here have had good luck purchasing them thru America’s Tire. And a normal socket should work fine for you. I know some splined style lug nuts will come with a specific socket/key to be used with them as well. if you have anymore questions please let us know.

These are what I use with six speeds. https://sdhqoffroad.com/products/splined-lug-nut-kit?variant=15364858970147

I wasn’t suggesting to not use them, don’t use them. They are made for regular lug nuts, not ET.

I sent them an email too. Lol

I’ve never heard of 1 specific wheel from a certain manufacturer not needing ET lugs and I’ve sold/ installed thousands of aftermarket wheels.
Admittedly I’ve never sold or installed a set of Six Speeds.
I’ve reached out to Icon via email and will see what they say. I will be happy to eat crow if it is true the six speeds are incompatible with ET lugs.

There are literally stickers on the tundra 5x150 wheels I have in stock that say “STOP. Tundra’s need ET lugs.”

Those are the same ones I used for my Rebounds as well. A regular lug wrench won’t fit in the Rebound’s tighter wheel lug bore, but a regular long socket will. Not sure if the Six Speeds have the same narrow lug bores, though.

I also read on here about a few who’ve broken ETs leaving just a ring around the lug, making it very difficult to remove. I had been running ETs on my Rebounds til I heard about that. I quickly switched to the acorn style sold by Wheelers. Not sure if the Rebounds or Six Speeds may have the same propensity to shear ETs, but I changed out the ETs as soon as I read about those experiences, albeit few in number.

Haha, thousands of wheels, but never the ones we talking about? They made them for regular lugs, and not the only wheels that do. https://www.tundras.com/threads/ext...uts-for-aftermarket-wheels.29521/#post-832112
    I have 2 sets of Icon wheels.:notsure:

    Correct, thousands of wheels.
Not sure what’s funny. I work for the 2nd busiest Discount Tire store in the country.

People like us who buy Icons geared towards off-roading a Tundra are the 1%. Aside from that we’re not a stocking vendor for Icons. A majority of my customers come in asking for Fuels, Rockstars, or Black Rhinos. Icons simply aren’t as popular and haven’t been around as long.

Good to know that those Enkei wheels mentioned in that thread also don’t take ET Lugs. Sucks that that guy found out the hard way. Even the wheel manufacturer in that thread said “if you can use ET lugs then use them.” and then goes on to say “they have never seen a lug nut break” like the horror story mentioned in that thread. Any competent installer should have found that out before letting the vehicle off of the lift.
I’ve seen it once and it wasn’t on a Toyota.
Also I still haven’t seen one thing written by Icon saying their wheels are not compatible with ET lugs.

Not all lugs are the same. The OP in that thread said his Gorilla ET lugs work just fine with his six speed wheels and do not bottom out against the rotor.
What brand lugs did you use that were too long for the six speeds?
Maybe that will be better info for everyone instead of just saying “Six speeds don’t take ET lugs!!”

Ha, no the Gorilla ET lugs mentioned by op don’t work either, he was just lucky enough not to learn the hard way. It is what it is..., have and tested same ET lugs. Hahahaha at your discount tire comment, you the second busiest, but that’s it. Icon will not recommend any lug nut, but they tell you exactly what to buy, wait for the reply. You told everyone to buy ET lug nuts for every wheel in this thread. You are so very wrong.

No need to get worked up or take it personal. You’re the one contradicting yourself. You said ET lugs don’t work with Six Speed wheels and then you provided a link to a thread where someone concluded the exact opposite by safely installing ET lugs with six speed wheels. And yes, if you read the email response someone else received from Icon, they do recommend a specific lug nut (refer to post 15).
Anyway. Don’t run ET lugs. That’s fine with me. But, unless you have concrete evidence stating that all ET lugs are incompatible with Six Speed wheels, then I don’t think you can say I was wrong for recommending them.

Here is the detailed explanation from Icon about why their wheels do not need ET lugs. “The pad thickness of the wheels is thin enough to provide adequate thread engagement between the nuts and their studs.”
    6AA50144-8570-43BB-8831-66A9BC222B78.jpg

To my knowledge this is the only wheel manufacturer who takes the tundra/ Toyota stud length in to account and modifies their wheels accordingly.
