Has anyone wondered why there is not a reflector or light in the bottom of the driver or passenger door? Seems like it would be a good safety feature. Has anyone made a modification to add a light or perhaps it is included on a certain trim package? It's not on my SR5.

Not on the bottom of the doors, but others have done a mod to put puddle lights under the rear view mirrors.

I've had those lights on the interior panels on other trucks that the OP is referring to. I think he means for visibility of an open door when parked parallel to traffic, as opposed to a courtesy light for passengers or drivers. Either way Monet's link can help you wire those up with a little imagination I'd assume.

That is correct, my other trucks have had this or at least a reflector, I was just thinking about it the other night when at the mail box and realized there is no light or reflector in these doors. Yes I may do the puddle light mod it's on my list.

Should be relatively easy. Lots of folks take the panels off to upgrade speakers, and lots of threads here on that.

I have those white lights on all 4 doors underneath the door pockets on my Tundra.

Might be one of those items that Toyota deleted to cheapen the cost like the drivers side "Oh Chit" handles.

My wife's 1999 Tacoma has red lights and her Lexus GX470 has white ones as well.

    Alot of them
They stopped putting lights in after the 2010 models. It's easy to add lighting behind the reflectors.
