    Hi,

My trusty portable booster pack from well over a decade ago doesn’t hold a charge anymore. It was basically a 20 lb acid battery in a plastic shell but it worked well.

I’m seeing these new small lithium booster packs. Looks like something I can almost keep in the console.

Anyone have experience with boosting a frigid 5.7 with one of these small packs? (The ones that attach directly to the battery)

I’m specifically looking at a Noco 2000 amp off Amazon.

I have used it once on my stock battery when it died after a year i had my truck, thank goodness i had it at that moment or else i would have had to call AAA. It cranked right away on the first try.
The second time was someone needed a jump, cranked right away.
As of any colder than what you stated , no i haven't used it. If its that cold I am staying home, lol.

Anyone have super cold weather experience with one of these packs?

And by cold, I’m thinking a week continuously below -20 C.

I have a Noco GB150. Used it every day for a week a while back to start my civic to and from work. Had to wait until the weekends to figure the parasitic draw. After 10+ jumps, the GB150 still showed 100% charged.

During that week, it was the winter. UT early mornings I’d say is slightly probably around -5 C. My charger was sitting in the house.

I have never had decent experience with these tiny jump packs, not once and I have tried several too.
I have never had a NOCO and they do seem nice but I have had several Battery Tender brand which is also supposed to be a premium brand and I got nothing from them.

The 20 lb battery in the one that you already have is usually a simple tp replace Alarm Standby Battery and if you find an Alarm Supply House they are pretty cheap too.
I replace them all the time and also use the same batteries in things that I make but I am also an Alarm guy for a long time so have easy access too.
    Just FYI

Since you're also in Canada, I'll share my experience. My family has had a few different Eliminator brand booster packs from Canadian Tire and some have been better than others. I have a small one and I've never been able to boost any vehicle even when it wasn't cold outside. My dad and brother have bigger ones and have had better experiences with them. I would recommend getting the one with the most cold cranking amps you can find and charging it once a month in the winter.

I have a noco and it’s always worked well. Coldest was probably around 10F and no issues starting the truck. Although I’ve used it more on other people’s vehicles than the tundra.

I have the smaller GB40. Have jumped off Sequoias, a Tahoe, forklift batteries, and no bullshit - one of our F750 delivery trucks with no problems.
