I'm thinking about swapping out my 2018 SR-5 grille for a Pro grille but not changing the surrounding. I would need the garnish thing and the grille insert. Has anyone done this before? Pretty sure it's got the TSS system. I'm trying to find a part number - I can get one at cost from Toyota (I work for a car dealership) but I don't know the part numbers. I saw a post on here about how to separate the insert from the surrounding, so that might help me. Jeeze, I'm all kinds of A.D.D. with this post, sorry!

Can't help with the TSS stuff, my 2014 doesn't have it, thankfully.
    But as to separating the insert form the surround;
It is easier with 2 people.
1 to pull the parts apart, the other to use a small jeweler's flat blade screwdriver to gently separate the tabs.
They break easily, I only broke one when I did mine..
Luckily it was close to the screw..

That's what I'm worried about. Are the tabs on the surround or the insert?

    That was years ago..
I think the part with the tabs to bend to release where on the surround.
    The insert had the 'inserts'..

    It isn't that hard.
If I would have had someone helping I wouldn't have broken any..
Just go slow and take your time.
even 1 or 2 get broken, it isn't going to make that much difference..

It is worth it to have the TRD Pro insert..

Man, that looks badass on your truck. The main thing that's stopping me is that the 'TSS grill garnish' costs more than the grille itself. $350-ish for the inset and $400 for the littel 3x4 inch piece that fits into the grill where the TSS sensor and camera is.

    Do a little more searching..
Some will use this and buy the older 2014-17 Pro grilles that doesn't have insert.
That insert ruins the look for the Pro grille anyway..

Again, I know nothing about the TSS sensor, since I don't have one..
    Not sure about any camera..

210A4E73-BFA1-40A2-A7F6-F49E97EC7E68.jpg You can get the 2014-17 pro grill and it doesn’t require a garnish....it does require the sensor relocation bracket.

I had the ajt relocation bracket and it caused periodic sensor malfunctions. I switched to the Jomax relocation bracket and haven’t had a problem since

    Not sure at this point.
IIRC, inserts aren’t sold by itself for the 2018-current model...

Are you looking for the old style Pro grill or the current version?
The old style insert will require a TSS relocation bracket as mentioned above. Several options to choose from.
Check out @2020Platinum mod to put the sensor behind the bottom of the surround itself.

If you want the current style Pro grill, some folks on here found an aftermarket version that comes with the little plastic cover, and they seem pretty happy with the quality. Pretty sure its this one:
