I don’t understand what they are patenting. Twin turbo v8s are everywhere.

    I’d prefer a 6.5’ bed…but an 8’ is acceptable.

They are not coming out with a V8 Twin Turbo. The patent is for a technology that has something to do with oil lubrication. Not a V8 Twin Turbo.

That patent specifically calls it out in an application for a V8 items 0011 thru 0014 and 0019:

Because it is for a technology they developed that works with several engine configurations. This not a patent for a new V8 Twin Turbo engine.

Hell, someone shortly will come out with a kit for it and it will sell like hotcakes.
The "Great Carnac" sees Toyota engines being the HP hot setup for trucks in years to come.
They will own gas engine trucking with SOTA engine induction techniques.
    You heard it here first.

i'll keep my 08 but if they stick that tt v8 in a lexus lcf (which doesn't exist yet but is rumored) well, i would consider selling/trading in my limited edition rcf. if the lcf comes out at $180 - 200k it's out of reach so i'll just stick with what i have. totally happy already. it's as close to an lfa i'll ever get.
