Mods please move this if it's in the wrong forum topic

I've done hundreds but this is the first on the Tundra and my Toyota care is up.

I'd would love to have the Jowett set up, but near as I can tell he's not been fabricating lately. So I figured I'd buy just what I need to get by and not buy the OEM metal oil filter cap, I'll just wait for the Jowett.

I am just a little confused on the Fumoto valve. It looks like the Jowett comes with one (or the option to have one). Also it looks like guys are installing the valve on the drain pan.

    So my question(s) are:

    1. Does it make sense to have a 2 valves, one on the filter and one on the pan?

    2. If I'm putting one on the pan should it be the shorter nipple? I can see wanting the longer one at the oil filter, but I'm not keen on seeing a longer nipple sticking out of the pan.

    3. Any known issues with any of the filter elements? I was considering going with an after market and not the OEM (just because of lead times)

    4. Lastly if you have the valve on the filter (either the Jowett or the OEM metal) you would not need the oil filter drain hose? hose https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005R3SSUY?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

    Is that a correct assumption?

Sorry if this has been asked, I haven't been able to find the answers.

I have the Fumoto valve with the longer nipple, works like a charm.
I wanted the Jowett filter housing with the valve but he gave me the run around for about 1 year. Don't waste the money or time trying to get it. Get the metal Toyota one and the hose kit you listed above, it will work great.

Thanks, so you have the valve on your pan with long nipple?

And no valve on the filter just using the drain hose?

I could put the valve on the metal filter but it’s not really needed (over kill)?

    Yes & Yes

When you switch from the plastic housing to the metal housing (both Toyota) you have to put the center strainer from the plastic one into the metal housing.

I was in the same dilemma also. I got the Valvomax, bought the Motivx kit. And got the OEM metal housing. Ill put the link below just in case you want to check it out and have some options. Hopefully this will help.
