In order: Orvis dog cover for rear bench seat, OE gun safe, Husky liners front/rear, Tyger tonneau tri fold, Rough Country seat covers
Looks good, how do you like the combo so far?

I’m currently considering a truck camper or a 5th wheel Scamp

No complaints. I knew what I was getting into since I had an Eagle model in my Tacoma for a couple years. Those 5th wheel Scamps are sweet, I see one roll through here every once in a while.

Did you end up modifying the suspension for the weight of the Granby?

Just mounted a Hawk on my 2021 SR5. Installed the Firestone Ride Rite air bags.

    Thanks!

Yes, I went with ADS 2.0 remote reservoir and custom springs from Alcan out of CO. I sent them the loaded/unloaded weights and told them I wanted a 2-2.5" and they nailed it.

Frick can’t believe I didn’t make this thread!! Haha

Here’s my rig, an 09 Hawk that’s been renovated a bit with interior/exterior paint. Gonna do new wallpaper soon, too. Have a Toytec 3” lift with 2.5 coilovers, add-a-leaf, Firestone airbags, and 35” KO2’s on 18” Bronze Method Roost wheels. It’s gone some sick places here in CO!

I said fuck that wait time and drove to the cali coast from CO to get mine used haha it's just absurd considering the wait time before the pandemic was maybe a month or two.

Long weekend trip to put up trailcams for elk season. Our FWC is a Fleet Shell made for a Tacoma but works great on the Tundra with a riser underneath to clear the cab and bed rails.

I'll grab some pics for you, but I stole this idea from a camper forum.
I used OwensCorning®FOAMULAR® 250 Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) Rigid Foam Insulation panels from Home Depot. The panels have a compression strength of 25 psi and I had to use 2 of the 2" panels to get it high enough. I also threw a thin (1/4" I think) stall mat on top of the panels to keep the camper from shifting and help distribute the weight a little. Works great and adds some serious R value to the floor! Many people with older and much heavier campers use these panels for their newer trucks that tend to have higher sides and roof lines.

I like how low it now sits to the roofline of the truck with your riser. Makes it look a lot more sleek and integrated.

Thanks, it sits about an inch off the bed side rails and maybe 2" from the shark fin antenna. I've had it on some fairly rough roads and no issues yet!

    My dream setup!

Any CrewMaxers running a Hawk and wheeling their truck hard?

My concern is the how far the Hawk would hang off on the 5.5’ ft bed (tailgate removed)

Has anyone fabricated some form of protection to protect the Hawk’s overhang on the 5.5’ bed?

Howdy all, just picked up a 2020 Tundra TRD OR, upgraded from my trusty self proclaimed “underpowered wagon” Tacoma, that I’ve had for a very long time, with which I had a 2017 FWC fleet mounted on the back… just here to pick some brains… As I plan on keeping the Fleet and since it was designed for light pickups and it will require a platform to rest on in the bed of the Tundra and I prefer to maximize space and storage, has anyone seen or conjured up a drawer platform on a full size with a light camper?

Where are you located. I could weld you up a tailgate/slider/support or whatever you need. Find a local welder who does custom work if you can.

Seen it many times, there's a few groups on facebook that I bet you could find ideas on. One cool thing I've seen is depending on how much you have to raise it, think about turning it into extra storage with some sliding shelves. Also wanderthewest.com has a lot of good info.

I’m based out of Cody, Wyoming from March until November, then I’m usually somewhere in the desert. Here’s the FWC sans the tundra.

I have friends in/near Cody. Let me know if you’d like me to reach out to see if any of them would like a project. I know one is a good fabricator but may be busy.
