Well I guess morimoto let me down and decided not to make a set of taillights to match my XB headlights. With that being said what’s a nice quality set that doesn’t scream ricer?

Like you, I was hoping for Morimoto, but ended up with Alpharex. Pleased so far.

I’m on the verge of these. How do they look with the running lights on? I hear very pinky?

I’d say that’s fair. I can try and take some pictures for you.

Here you go. Very hard to get anything farther back without getting a ton of lens flare. This is probably the most representative shot of the color. Sorry about the water - it just stopped raining.

FWIW, the daytime photos above are also running lights only. (That horizontal bar does both running lights and brakes.)

Thanks Travis. They don’t appear to be very pink to me in those pictures. I may have to reconsider.

They aren’t super eye-popping red like a superbright led, more of a soft red, if that makes sense. Personally, I like it, but I can see how it could be subjective.

If you look for it, you can see it in the daylight photo above. The right tail is in some slight shade compared to the left. With more ambient light, the left appears kind of pink by comparison. Again, subjective, and I have no problem with it.

Has anyone else tried the Alpharex tails?

@TravisJr Are you still happy with yours? Are you able to upload a few more pictures? Do you have Morimoto Headlights? I have them and have heard that the Alpharex tails can cause hyperflash if you already have Morimoto XB headlights installed. Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

Yep, still happy. I DO have Morimoto XBs up front. I installed the Alpharex tails first, and they ran correctly with no issue. Once I added the Morimotos, I got hyperflash. I installed resistors in the tails, and it fixed the issue all around. Pretty easy fix.

I’ll try and get some more photos later. Something specific you’re looking for?

Great to hear that you still like them. How did you know which resistors to purchase to get rid of the hyperflash? Did it matter if you had the XB's on quick on/off blinker mode or sequential (I have mine set to sequential)?

If you can post a few from far away, running lights on, and at more of a corner angle instead of just rear of the truck.

    Thanks!
