And what happens when it goes down to -50F and your block cracks?

Canada has a 55/45% coolant to water mix good to -50 something degrees. The US gets 50/50.

At least according to the owners manual.

Do any national chain stores carry this brand?

You buy a block heater if you're going to stay in that cold a climate.

    Paging @Outbound
Do you mix with Canadian whiskey to prevent freezing?

That's primarily for easier starting. What it the power goes out? Don't most people up there run 70% antifreeze?

Pray your freeze plugs on the block work otherwise get a backup generator system that automatically kicks on when needed. I can't comment on the 70% antifreeze mixture.

How cold does it get where you are? How much water do you think is still in the block? How can you make a perfect ratio mixture without knowing precisely? Why does it matter so much if you're selling it?

All hypotheticals because the last owner might've driven it to the arctic circle where the block cracked. :D

Seriously, OP I wouldn't be too concerned unless you plan to keep the vehicle.

You can buy heaters that warm up the coolant.

Can't find that OEM brand around here so will go with Peak.

Just wanted to add this for anyone doing research here. The previous pics of the rusty looking orange coolant are perfectly normal. The coolant is translucent and the black container is giving that appearance. Mine looked exactly the same when doing my timing belt and I drained it into the same container, which gave me some concern. Then I poured it into an old windshield washer fluid bottle (translucent but clear with no color) for disposal. The bottle is completely pink.
