Limited TRD Off Road Tires Falken AT trail

Does anyone know where I can find the specs for the tires that come with Limited TRD Off Road, Falken Wildpeak AT Trail 265/60R20? <= Correct me if I got the tire model/size wrong.
These are not listed on the Falken Website or anywhere else, is this size specifically made for Toyota?

Not sure if this is the exact same tire or not on Tirerack. Picture looks different, but I think is should be the one, SL load rating 265/60R20.

It’s the falken A/T AT3WA. They look like all weather tires.

 

If the AT3W is the tire that came with Limited TRD Off Road, then I was looking at the wrong tire, the tire on the Falken website looks a lot more aggressive than what I see in the pictures posted on this site:

It seems they built this tire in this size specifically for this truck. And of course they will be cheaper tires then the same tires bought from the tire company.

The new generation of Tundra's will have either the 265/60R20 Wildpeak AT3wA or 285/65R18 Wildpeak AT3wA (TRD Pro Ed.), among other tire brand choices.

These are the OE versions of the Wildpeak and yes, look almost like a normal all-season. The off-the-shelf Wildpeak AT3w tread design is too aggressive to meet Toyota's acceptable limits for noise, comfort, ride, etc.

Part numbers are below for the OE Wildpeak AT3wA (emphasis on that "A" at the end).

Sorry to dig this thread up yet again, but I'm considering stepping up a tire size from my stock 275/65r18 to either a 275/70 or 285/65. I thought I was set on a 275/70, but came across the Wildpeaks on Discount Tire's site and saw that they came in an SL version rather than the E rating everything else in these sizes have. Just to clarify, you're saying the 285/65s are an "A" version and have a slightly different tread than the "normal" AT3W?

I've been looking at tires for a while for fun and was certain I'd get Wildpeaks when the time came due to the reviews and the very competitive price (lower than most competition), but now it seems like these are priced at the high end of the available AT tires. Is there some kind of supply shortage, or was the historical low price to get market share, and now that these have a good reputation Falken is charging more? I was leaning more towards the Cooper AT3 now that the Falkens are so expensive, but this SL option might push me back.

 

Yes, the 285/65R18's are not LT and actually the factory options for the new Tundra's (trd trim to be specific). This is a new size that was made and introduce for this model, which you can use on other vehicle, should it meet load and speed ratings. It is a softer compound than our regular off the shelf Wildpeak AT3w in order to comply with Toyota's criteria. As such, only a standard 6 yr prorated manufacturer warranty against defects is being offered for this specific size.

Prior to 2020, we have been struggling to meet demand with our Wildpeak AT3w. With our Buffalo plant slowly, but surely, picking up more production, we are hoping that we can fully rely on our Buffalo plant taking over majority of the Wildpeak production instead of relying on our overseas factories like Japan and Thailand.

As with all other tire manufacturers, pricing on all of our tires (not just the off-the-shelf wildpeaks) have increase. Aside from the high material costs, transportation cost alone has increased 10x. You can see this increase with the cost of food at your grocery store, household essentials, or anything where the product you are purchasing needs transporting from factory to shelf.

 

I mean, I get if Falken is relying on overseas factories to import that prices would be a lot higher than US-made tires. Just a bummer since I was pretty set on the Wildpeaks, but it looks like I'll be going with someone not impacted so much by shipping.

As always, thank you for jumping on here and keeping us informed. I'm really glad to hear Falken made a NON-LT tire in the Wildpeak. I have 305/65-18 AT3s now and I'm looking for something close to that size that isn't E-rated. What can you suggest?

 

closest in height alone would be the 285/65R18. the LT305/65s are 33.6" in OD, against the 33" to the 285s. Good thing is the 285s meets load rating for the truck. Toyo offers a 305/60R18 in a non-LT size, measuring at 32.4". Nitto, with their Terra Grappler G2 offers a couple of non-LT sizes that may fit your needs as well. Just some non-bias options

I think this is unique to Falken for the most part. According to their rep on this site, they've been relying on overseas factories for production and the shipping/import costs are apparently driving the price up. I know prices are up in general, but the US-made tires are nowhere near this crazy.

 

@r1-superstar looks like a discount tire/america's tire pricing. I did some searching and found retailers selling this tire in the $400 range. Tire Rack is pricing them below $400

That was the first search I pulled up. I didn't mean to get everyone in a panic. haha So are they 6 ply? And thanks for the part number.

 

non-LT sizes tend to have 4-5 layers of material in the tread section, so not quiet a "C" load tire.. All Wildpeak AT's have a two ply sidewall, regardless if it is LT or non-LT size.

 

I have takeoffs from my 22 Limited TRD OF with 1200 miles on them, the 20" TRD wheels and the Wildpeak tires if anyone is interested. Located in Sacramento, CA.

 

Tire Rack. Much better. haha These look to be almost 16lbs lighter per tire than my 305/65-18 AT3s.

 

@Falken QA How much does the stock 20" AT3WA weigh? I did a little searching on the interwebs and couldn't find anything.

 

Falken tires have been going up like gas prices. I love them, but not gonna 2nd mortgage my house for a set.

 

I remember someone posting this info after replacing his original tires, the take offs were 38 lbs each. If I remember correctly.

That is true. the 285/65R18's are 38lbs and the 265/60R20's are 37lbs in order to meet Toyota's MPG goals, among other criteria.

 

Any suggestions on a bigger tire with stock wheels and no lift?
