Thanks T-G, appreciate the feedback. Makes total sense and I have been reading where people really strive to get their modified wheel/tire combo to fall under a certain weight. I haven't done anything like this since my Jeep CJ-5 back ~1980, so it's been a minute.

I'll be buying a '23 Tundra for a few reasons and still torn over which trim level but it will be a 4x4 and I do want either a leveling kit or lift kit and likely a 34"/35" tire and probably will keep the stock 20" wheels (TRD OR or Platinum). I pull a Kubota Sidekick on a tandem 12' trailer from time to time and also load my current Tundra up with firewood AND pull the trailer loaded with ~5000 lbs of logs (a friend loads via his tractor), so load rating is certainly important but I'm not trying to do the work of a 1+ ton diesel either. I don't do any rock crawling (well, haven't yet) but do spend a fair amount of time in the NC & N GA mountains, so certainly need 4x4 capabilities for snow and dirt/mud for mild off-road adventures. So that's my situation and welcome advice.

Appreciate all the valuable insights provided at this site.

P tires are also much less expensive than LT.

I like the look of those tires - they do fill the wheel wells pretty good. I'd still want to life that front just a tad with a leveling kit. Sharp truck!

Sorry guys, tried searches and specs but can’t locate the stock offset for a 22 (SR5 if it varies). Thanks for sharing if you have handy.

+60 if they’re the SR5 TRD OR wheels.

Pirelli Scorpion 275/65R20. Giving these a shot at 48 lbs each. Not looking for Moab ready setup but something better than stock and this is apparently (?) biggest non LT tire right now. They are back ordered but my install is last day in Feb.
Guessing not as inexpensive as would guess for most non LT versions of AT tires, likely due to being ties to the new Rivian.

First want to echo the comment about excellent photos. Are you a photographer? What camera did you use for these?

Secondly I have to say this is the very first '22 i've seen that actually looks good. I suspect you've just set the 'look' for all 22s. Well done!

Anyone brave enough that’s tried putting 17” @SCSPerformance wheels on the new Tundra?

There are a bunch of people running 17s of other brands. I haven't seen a 17" SCS wheel though. :monocle:

…but the offsets scared me a little quite honestly as the one I was looking at was like -12

I'm gonna say 0 offset is the border between still looks cool and brodozer. Under = brodozer, over = just right

Me personally with our truck, a 9” wide wheel with a +12 would probably be my max. I’m running a +18 and they have a pretty good mixture of poke but still tucked enough to protect the paint.

I haven’t looked, but has anyone ran a 0 on a 9” wide wheel with pictures?

Group, I am no wheel expert so I am reaching out in this thread. Searched all the threads to see what these wheels look like on a Taco/4Runner/Tundra but did not come across anything. Looking at changing wheels from the OEM's on the Limited TRD OR [18's in Canada] to Black Rhino's Ridge Wheels with BFG KO2's [285/65R18]:

    upload_2022-2-18_10-45-49.jpg

It looks like they would fit but not sure about the Bore Size. The specs are as follows:

    • 18x9
    • 6x139.7
    • Offset: 12 [OEM is +60]
    • BS: 5.47
    • Bore: 112.1 [OEM's are 106.1]
    • Weight: 35lbs
    • LR: 2250lbs
    Input is welcomed...

fitment will be a bit on the aggressive side, they will poke out from the fenders a little. Also 35lbs is a tad heavy so may impact your fuel economy a bit. If those things don't bother you then go for it! Good looking wheels.

…agree on wheel being a tad heavy (so combined wheel/tire combo will put you at ~ 94lbs). As also mentioned…Mileage will take a hit as stock weight combinations seems to be coming in between 65lbs on 18” Off-road ‘Michelin Trails’ up to 74lbs with 20” Off-road ‘Falken Wildpeaks’

nice looking wheels though…and if none of the above isn’t an issue then indeed you should go for it

Looks to be a very nice choice. I considered buying those, and almost did it. The only reason I went with the Coopers is that I owned them in the past, and was really impressed with them.

I usually also like looking at Tirerack tests. These are as close of objective tests you will find comparing tires. Look at the charts.

    https://m.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=240

BTW, those are the OEM Rivian R1T tires. I think they were specifically developed for them. So they may have different/ better compound than the regular Scorpions.
