Have a 2019 trd pro crew max to trade. Looking at a limited or platinum crew max 3rd gen. Poked around a bit on dealer websites to gather info/ get a trade value but getting very little replies which I assume is related to lack of inventory. Can I expect reasonable value for my trade vs what I pay for 2022? Have quite a bit of equity and excellent credit.
    Any similar experience feedback appreciated

You will likely get more for trade-in than you expect, but it will be made up for in the pricing of the new truck, which won't be delivered until sometime next year, unless you happen to get lucky and find one on the lot that's not already reserved.

You will most likely get more than what you paid but that may or may not change with what's going on. You could always do an estimate on Carvana's website and they will send an quote instantly. Increase your search radius could help as well. I'm in MD, but found a dealership that had a SR5 TRD-OR that wasn't reserved but I cancelled that deposit because a few local dealerships had incomings that were available.

I'm just traded in my 2012 Tundra double cab base model w 85k. I got trade in values from 5 or 6 dealers ranging from 14-20k. I put a deposit on a Platinum being built on 4/11 and got 20k trade. 7 years ago I bought the truck for 26k so I think I made out for once on trade in value. All the dealers in my area are selling the new Tundras at mrsp. I'd shop around, a lot of dealers are doing virtual appraisals too. Good luck

I got what I paid for my 21 in trade value (less my 1500 in accessories).

bought new 22 SR5 OR CM for MSRP and had the dealer include free tri fold tonneau and TRD skid plate. Those things were coming off the crazy value of my trade.

so. Moral of the story. Your trade will be worth plenty. Don’t sell short.

Keep shopping around as advised…you should get a lot more than you paid (I got $5k more than what I paid for my 2015 CM OR after 5 years of ownership).

Also if you can do without a truck for a little while and taxes aren’t a factor where you live (in a sell vs trade situation) you might just sell it outright and have cash on hand to plop down on what you want when you see it/order it.

As others have said however I think there is a window on current trade in values.
As the Geo Political situation continues (higher gas prices) it will cause used trucks to sit on lots and not move,
so the dealer will not be as eager on the price they give you.
At the same time it will take longer I think for dealers to move off of MSRP on new trucks due to lack of inventory.
And for those looking to buy outright I think some people who do not "Need" a truck will cancel their allocation when the trucks arrive, making more trucks available. So wait.
