TRD off road - shock upgrade & crawl control (LESS expensive)

Advanced package - AVS air suspension & HUD (MORE expensive)

what are your thoughts which is better why can’t we get both shock upgrade, air suspension, an hud ? which is a better investment

The Off Road also has the rear locker.

Need to adjust the thinking, though. This is not an investment. It is a depreciating asset.

I went with the OR package to get the heated seats and steering wheel. I don't need the true off road items, but this was only way to get the seats and steering with allocations available. Dealer would have added heated seats and a back seat in black for $1500. OR is in blueprint, our first choice and SR5 was MGM our second choice. I also didn't like the wheels on SR5 and would have changed them...so cost was about the same in the end.

Let me counter with a question: Do you tow more or off-road more? Your answer really should determine your answer to your post question.
    • If you tow more...get the air suspension and the HUD. The rear locker & off-road drive modes are useless for towing.
    • If you off-road more...the air suspension & HUD are relatively useless off-road, but the rear locker & drive modes will pay dividends while off-roading.
Side note: If you really don't do either (tow of off-road) and your truck is on pavement 100% of the time...just go air suspension & HUD.

Went with the off-road package for the rear locker as well as the blacked out rims and grill change. As I don't off-road I could care less about the stiffer suspension and the "skid plates". Wish I could have taken parts of each really but since I didn't have that option...

The rear locker also means nothing to me. Would like a true limited slip differential, I would have thought the OR would have a true LS. This will be my first Tundra. Comming from a 2015 F150 3.5 ecoboost..and an LS differential.

Rear locker is going to be better off-road, which is why it’s on the OR package.

These are options and both cost money.
