Stated earlier I am not a Toyota owner. Worked on a few. Thread came up on a search for other related and I thought I would support the OP's tip as I have experienced the same. I am an Autozone customer. Problem with discussion forums are they become a flame war. Op's was simply sharing a helpful tip to make aware save people money, opinions then run rampant. To each his own, take the tip or not. DIY or not. Should have paid more attention to your member description.

    Let me get this straight.
You don’t own a Tundra or a Toyota.
You run a random, unrelated Google search for something else, and decided to create an account, on a site dedicated to Tundras, to comment on a thread about brakes.

You have too much time on your hands.

    Flame case and point.

Searching Google and replying to a forum post does not take that much time for the computer literate.
The post is not vehicle specific. I spend time on other forums as I work on many different types of cars, including Toyota. Assuming non-Toyota members are welcome here. I choose to spend time working on and educating myself about all cars. Maybe a waste of time for some, but not so much for others and more of a passion. Distractions in forums are the real time wasters.

In any event, this is a tangent from original post. It is not about my time or business. Just a tip for some to save some money and be aware of a deal at their local auto parts store. Most people I talk to on the subject were not aware that this exists. Thank you to the OP.

    I felt it was weird.
Isn’t it cool we’re both allowed to have opinions.

Yes, dude, I'm not an Autozone employee. That is defamatory. Full-time information technology professional, part-time mechanic. Again, this is not about me. Yes, we can have opinions, but the OP post is fact, tho many do not want to believe it. Maybe more misunderstood than weird, sorry you felt that way.

.... and there we have it!!! 'this isn't about me'; wait, here's my CV! and MY opinion matters!!!! Oh, did I mention that I'M an IT 'PROFESSIONAL', well I AM; that's how I found your forum (you know on google)... Oh wait again, I've now baited you into this argument, and now I'm going to cry 'defamation' because you must recognize and acknowledge me for what I am, 'AN IT PROFESSIONAL'... 'Don't ever call me an Autozone employee again you computer illiterates'.

    Where's my ignore button????

Disclaimer: This post is not meant to offend any true Toyota Tundra owning IT professional.

How often you need to change your brakes depends on how often you use them. I live in a city where there's red lights every 2 blocks, 24/7 stop and go traffic so I'm probably on the brake pedal more than the throttle. This my brakes do not last as long as someone who lives out in the desert with no red lights, a stop sign in the whole town and only 2 cars on a 4 lane road. I don't change brakes by miles or time, I change them based on how many millimeters of materials are left on the pads or when the metal indicators start to screech when I depress on the brake pedal.

I don’t think Autozone wants you defending their employees or their policies any longer, mr. information technology perfessional.

    You made it weird.

They are. Anybody is welcome. Ignore the flamers.

Flamers- we have been warned with the ban hammer before simply for saying things that don't make other members feel welcome. That can be defined in many ways, so drop the pissy shit. There is no need for it. Any automotive enthusiasts should be welcome here.

Its a little different for tools. Brakes are a wear item, they aren't intended to last forever. Them putting a lifetime warranty on brakes and allowing exchanges this way is totally their deal. They are allowing it so game on for those who want to do it.

The craftsman thing was nice while it lasted. I replaced many shovels that way, and even a long screw driver that I got at a pawn shop for 50 cents and broke by using it as a pry bar. I expected to hear that using it as a pry bar is improper but they said go grab another.

I use OEM pads. They last forever. I don't wanna change my brakes every 30k. Current pads have 54k miles. I can snap a pic of how much meat is left. It's alot. And I tow alot. I also use OEM pads and strictly use Motorcraft or International sensors on my 95 7.3

Buttttt on my 7.3 I do make use of the lifetime warranty for the alternator and the vacuum pump. Those are both easy items to change out, and the 10 min it takes to change it out is way better than forking out hundreds of dollars for OEM stuff. Been through about 5 alternators and 2 vacuum pumps in 7 years. Some alternators last awhile. Some last a week. After I bought a cig lighter solar panel, it's not as hard on the batteries or alternator.
