Just curious if anyone on here has had any experience with the Edge CTS3 Insight monitor? Looking to see if it's a good compatible option for my truck. I have checked there website and there is no mention of Tundras on their site?? Also what kind of mounting options are there besides the standard suction cup type that comes with it, Thanks

What are you looking to monitor you could accomplish the same thing with an OBDlink MX+ for much cheaper. I use a tablet that I have mounted to monitor what I'd like, The app is very customizable and you can choose what you want to have monitored.

I have one and would buy it again.

Now days buying apps with an OBDII port transmitter might be the way to go. Watch parameters from your phone mount. One less thing someone else wants to steal.

Looking to get a variety of different diagnostics, mainly trans temp and tire pressures. I like that idea of the one you have but by the time I get a iPad or something similar it will end up costing more than the edge does. I also like the compact screen of the edge.

So the edge is compatible with our trucks then correct? Their website was no help.

You can also just use your phone you don't need to have a tablet like I do. I don't believe you can monitor tire pressures through obd but could be wrong.

You are right. No help on the website.

I have a Duramax, so I am no help either. :anonymous:

I would call Edge or email them.

There are other options like the scan gauge 3. Heard great things about that.

If you go with an aftermarket headunit (i have the kenwood dmx1037s) and the Maestro unit, you can see a bunch of good gauges....trans temp, egt, mph, mpg, instant mpg...a separate tpms screen.

you can do 2 presets for those gauges, so i have one for important stuff when towing and another just for regular stuff.

This is a good reminder for me tomorrow... I have an insight 3 sitting in storage from my totaled truck, which I was going to post for sale... Hopefully I will remember to go to the unit tomorrow and plug it in to see if it works...

Short answer is yes it works. I'll take it back home and look at what I can see.

Didn't see tire pressure but here is what it defaulted to when I turned it on.

Guess I won't sell this now.

Instead of starting a new post, asking here again...

So I never did anything with this and was thinking about the upcoming trips and towing. If one already owns a CTS3, does anyone here have any real world input on its capabilities vs selling and getting either the SG or OBD scanner? I can list it for sale again and buy one of the cheaper options, but can it do just as much in real world? I know it reads when it is plugged in, but is it useful since edge says it isnt supported?

Hopefully my rambling thought makes sense.

I am shopping for a 2.5 gen Tundra as we speak. I do definitely plan to put some form of digital gauges in. I do have an Insight CTS-2 on my Ram truck, which works great. So when I do purchase a Tundra, I'll likely try plugging my CTS-2 into the Tundra and see if it works. At such time as this happens, which may be soon, or may take a while, I will report back the results of this. If the CTS-2 should happen to work in the Tundra, then the CTS-3 would probably also work.

With the Kenwood and Maestro, did you lose ANY functionality of the OEM stuff, steering wheel controls, apps, etc.?

Did you self-install or have a stereo shop do it? If shop, what'd they charge you?

    That's a pretty sweet setup.

    Didn't loose out on anything.

I installed it myself and got it from James at tech12volt.

Thank you. So if just doing HU (for now) I'd need HU, Maestro link, and plug 'n play harness... that's it?

Does the Kenwood work with the OEM Toyota XM antenna?

I plugged my 3 in and it worked, but I didnt have time to navigate the menus and really play with it. Plus I am not sure if there is enough gain to keep it versus selling it and grabbing a SG for less. Last thing we need is another large screen in the way.
