So in my 2023 Limited the cup holders are a bit of a joke my taller coffee cups want to tip over and out. I spotted this on EBay and ordered anyone have experience with it.?

One big downside to that one on Amazon is it's a 3d printed part made from PLA a biodegradable plastic. The cup grip one looks to be injection molded so it should age better. Good find though,

I had the Cup Grip for a short time in my Limited before trading up to a Platinum. It worked well at the time. It is held in by pressure which was concerning as it may work it's way back out. Like I said, short time experience with it.

My cups tip over in turns, too. What a PITA. I think I'll design my own one of these and 3D print it. Looks simple enough.

I got it off of Etsy for $20 and love it. Works great, prevents my mug from tilting on turns

Sorry, not anytime soon. We don't use the rear cup holder and the necessary iterative design process is too much of a PITA and too time consuming to take on for "fun".

I'm going to print this in a little while (once my current print completes), and I'll see how it fits up in the rear cupholder and perhaps make a modified .stl file for the rear. Stay tuned (won't be likely until tomorrow).

I just tried the printed piece in the rear cup holder and it doesn't fit perfect but it works. The printed spacer is a little too long in the long axis for the rear holder by maybe 5-7mm (I didn't measure) so it doesn't go all the way down. And the wings on the printed piece are a bit too wide for the rear protrusion in the cupholder. It goes over but will be a little loose fit.

Bottom line is that it will work as is, but would fit a lot better if you would shorten the long axis by some % or mm in your slicer so the piece will insert all the way and bottom out in the holder. Would take trial and error to get it right. As for the wingspan not matching the rear protrusion in the holder, that would be more difficult to fix... would have to resize one end somehow or add some features to the design to close up the gaps... and really isn't necessary. The front fits snug and if you make it just snug in the long axis it will be plenty solid.

Anyone seen a cupgrip or equivalent that would work with 1794 edition?

Sweet, I've been looking for one of these so my cup holder expander would stay in place better.

I've got the opposite problem: Nalgenes won't fit, which is ridiculous. I could fit 2 Nalgenes in the front cup holders in the 4Runner...

I ordered the cup grip and it arrived within a few days. It works as advertised and highly recommended.

Lol, a little overkill on my end in quality as I had CF ABS in the printer…

Perfect, now my Yeti fits, sits nice and level, and stays right where it should.

    Thanks for sharing.

After testing my front cup spacer in the rear cupholder again it looks pretty close so I believe I can do this in just 1 or maybe 2 iterations. Draft printing test #1 now. This version is just a few mm shorter in length and a few mm taller than the original. I wonder if those commercially available ones might work in both holders, which would mean that the front one would fit a little loose. In any case check back here later today and I should have something for you.

I scaled the . STL down to 95% in Prusa Slicer and it fits perfectly in the back cupholder. Also printed I full size for the cupholder and attached photos of both.

That's pretty much what I am doing but back in Tinkercad to make it shorter natively by 4mm... and I made it a little taller to come up higher on the rear of the cupholder. I'll post the link to that file when I am sure I have the scaling correct.

OK, I just posted up the rear version at the same link. It may not appear there for a little while because sometime Thingiverse is slow to update saves. I made the rear one a few mm taller and I snugged up the wings in the back to eliminate the little bit of lateral movement when using the shortened front holder spacer in the rear holder. Not sure why Toyota made the rear holder with such small differences from the front one... but they did.

No problem, the changes from the front piece were minimal and took me about 5 minutes to make. Enjoy! Remember, the rear one has a front and back. Should be pretty obvious.

The cup holders are front to back instead of side by side. The space between them is also wider. 20230509_102742.jpg 20230509_102734.jpg

Looks pretty much the same to me, just rotated 90 degrees. Try one and see.
