Always used to say back in the day that if I won the lottery I'd buy a brand new 4 Runner and swap a supercharged Tundra motor in it. Now that I see it done I want it more.

    Hmmm I have a 2015 4runner with 40k miles on it. That's a great idea.

Whipple and smaller pulley ordered. Need to order the Prospeed tb adapter, rcf throttle body and 750s.

Pops ordered a prospeed intake but he was able to get the maggy box in so I’ll run that prospeed intake (wrapped in gold of course) for now to get it tuned with the larger pipe until I make a canister style intake.

    Tastefully enhanced...
I'm not sure... I'm still tuned with VF from years ago...when I hit my T/H button...I get a completely different sound while driving (less stock sounding)...like more boost sound paired with more sensitive boost...I realize throttle sensitivity occurs and different shift points in T/H...but my understanding is the bypass valve is essentially closed when i hit the button with my tune...this is what activates my 91 tune...my boost limits are easier to get to, faster too...and my fuel mileage (I know, speculative metric) goes down easier/faster too even if driving normal with it pressed/activated...long story short, I think it's possible for modulation...

Haha probably know 4. His should make some good power bigger intake box and tb and blower. I’d guess 600+ish. Stock pulley on his. Below the curve is where he’s noticing it

Just got back from a weekend washout camping trip. Watching all the temps on the SG3 was interesting. Had a scenario on the way out that was super hard on the truck. Stuck behind a dump truck with a full load of stone up a winding steep mountain hill for probably 1.5 miles. He had us down to 15-20mph, all the while I’m chugging along with the TC unlocked. Coolant got up to 225 which was the highest I’ve ever seen it, and cat temp was over 1,560 degrees for a while. Trans was only 215 or so. Also, I never got an active or pending p0101 like I used to get towing with the stock intake. Switching to the magnuson box seems to had addressed that.I’m hoping my cats don’t cook for a while yet, but it’s definitely on my mind.

It pulled great though, no issues! Even with an untouched trans tune and TC lockup schedule it would pull all the big hills at 60 in 4th with the TC locked, under 3000rpm at 5ish lbs of boost. I’d actually down shift on purpose to get out of boost and keep the AFRs leaner.

I just love towing with this SC. It pulls the hills like an absolute train, and sounds awesome especially with the TRD duals. I still think it’s the best mod to date!

Also, just came home to some new 34x12.50 Toyo AT3s in my garage. Have to put those on with my new Ironman coilovers and SPC UCAs. Life is good :D

Considering I have none of his exhaust or fuel mods, I think I'm in good shape!

How can I determine the differences/similarities of the ARH LT & my Doug Thorleys?

I don't see specs like these on the ARH site

    http://www.dougthorleyheaders.com/t...g-tube-tri-y-headers-(no-air-injection)_15788

    THY-560Y3-L-C

    Header Style: 4:2:1 Long-Tube Tri-Y Header
    Material:Steel
    Finish:Silver Ceramic Coated
    Weld Up:No
    Primary Tube Diameter:1-5/8"
    Primary Tube Gauge:14 Gauge
    Collector Attachment:Factory Flange Connection
    Collector Diameter: 2-1/2"
    Tuned: No
    Flange Thickness:3/8"

After looking more I see they give a choice of tube diameter smaller & bigger & some details.

    ARH primary diameter.jpg

    1. 100% Made in the USA - Never Outsourced
    2. Made entirely of 304 stainless steel
    3. 3/8" thick laser-cut flanges for a warp-free seal
    4. Hand-ported TIG welded inlets
    5. Optimized primary tube routing for superior fit and performance
    6. Merge collectors with scavenger spikes
    7. Catted systems feature 200 cell metallic substrate catalytic converters for extreme durability
So I guess my question is although Keith from DD said they are not beneficial, are they?

I think they are with the proper tune, and even if it's a small gain it will help the engine flow. I'm waiting on my ARH from Prospeed.

20230430_150358.jpg Hey guys, so my build took a slightly different path than I planned. Westcott finished up my install early last week, but after they consulted with Dyno Comp they assured me that I didn't need to upgrade my fuel pump or injectors for adding the smaller pulley. I'm not 100% sure I agree with that since I did see my green injectors hit 96% duty cycle on a prior log, but that's currently where I'm at.

Westcott installed the Snivilous hub with the 2.30" pulley. They swapped the supercharger idler with the replacement I picked up from SCOL. That idler was the source of my slight squeal issue I had that Toyota was unable to diagnose when they changed the belt tensioner and fan bracket thinking that was the issue. They also swapped the coolant crossover pipe with the replacement I had received from Magnuson last year due to some coolant crust buildup indicating a tiny leak at one of the pipe nipples. The supercharger coupler was also replaced with the SCOL unit and my supercharger rattle is no more. Lastly, the green belt was tossed on to wrap it all up. After everything was installed, they drove the truck over to Dyno Comp for them to do the tuning. In the end Dyno Comp got me to 465.1 HP and 492.4 TQ at the rear wheels.

@reywcms claimed my FiveO injectors, but I still have the unused Walbro 450 pump with install kit and the hardwire kit (Deatschwerks), along with the Radium Engineering bulkhead terminals available if anyone is in need of any of these items.

I still plan to make an appointment with Dyno Comp at a later date to get the Innovate PSB-1 installed along with the Cravenspeed gauge pod. For what it's worth Dyno Comp said adding a set of long tube headers they could get me another ~50HP at the wheels, but I plan to just keep everything as-is for right now.

When it was dynoed, was there mention of what the injector DC was now?

I'm thinking about replacing my idler pulley too, mine seems to squeak at times under WOT. How do you like the one from Scol?

Unfortunately not. Westcott drove the truck over to Dyno Comp and dropped it off. When the truck was done they went back and picked it up for me. I only spoke to whomever it was at Dyno Comp that took my payment over the phone for the tuning. I may swing by on Thursday and see if they have any details since their shop is only a mile from my work. I didn't get a dyno sheet either, just the numbers over the phone.

The SCOL unit was around $170, but that's because it comes with the bracket and bolts too. I didn't know that when I ordered it. Not sure if you can just get the pulley by itself, but maybe worth a call. The Dayco 89016 sells for around $23.00 and is supposed to be the same according to a thread I found on here. The Toyota TRD Idler Pulley (PTR29-34084) also runs $143.46 so I was hesitant to go with the $23.00 Dayco part due to the large price difference. I assume the TRD also comes with the bracket and is why the higher cost also. If you don't need the bracket I'd just order the Dayco.

Edit: My truck is super quiet now compared to before. No squeal from the idler and no rattle from the coupler.
