2018 Platinum Battery?

    Just bought a 2018 with 68k on it. Figure the battery will be the first thing to go. Anyone know what brand the stock battery is? I haven't had any issues yet but I like to be proactive and don't feel like breaking down for $200

    Toyota brand - the factory batteries are notoriously shitty but the Toyota branded replacements are supposed to be better.

    I opted for a X2 from Batteries Plus which is a rebranded Northstar.

    So the OEM one gave out on the orig owner most likely. Your Duralast one should have a month and year of manufacture on it.

    My 2020 battery crapped out at around 2 years(20k miles), I did a post about it. Anyways it was under warranty so they replaced it with a Toyota battery, which the guys here say it's better than OEM. Looks like yours crapped out also. Look for a year on your battery and see how old is it. Could be fairly new and might not have to change it.

    If you guys want to make your batteries last, pick up an Optimate charger, I plug my truck in maybe once a month and it still tests out perfect on my 2019, also dont forget to check the water levels and top off with distilled water. Obviously some batteries are better than others but many fail because of no maintenance done to them. I once had a battery last over 10 years on a motorcycle because I plugged it in when ever not in use. Obviously not something practical to do with a truck. I also carry a
    $129 JNC660 1700 Peak Amp 12 Volt Jump Starter , Blue
    JNC660 just incase, rather do that than replace a good battery, plus it makes it super easy to help someone who needs a jump.
