Need to replace damaged trailer harness, but harness on the truck NEW is not Toyota part. Hopkins #43385, labeled “exact OEM “ is not a plug & play! Original bracket is more robust, and bolt pattern is different… have seen a 2022 post here showing same setup ( but can’t locate it…. New guy with aging fingers) Dealer doesn’t know where towing pkg was installed. Can’t find any ID on what’s left of harness

Well, if Hopkins #43385 doesn't work for you I suspect that the connectors used on the "truck side" of the harness has different connectors than those that the Hopkins #43385 mates to. So, you either have to A) find out what harness you currently have and order the same one or B) change out the connectors on the "truck side" of the harness to accept the Hopkins #43385 (or Hopkins 41144). While you're at it you might as well relocate it to the left of the license plate instead of hanging low on the stupid OEM bracket.

Post a picture of your harness and underneath where the harness should mate to 2 gray connectors (drivers side near the spare tire). That might help shed some light on this.

Worst case is you have to use custom connectors to make everything work.
