I have a 2008 Tundra 5.7 4x4 Crew. Since it can tow 10,200 lbs, do any of you know which ball hitch I can get for it? I’m not really finding any in the 10k lbs range.

I have one that came with the truck that's a curt hitch and ball if I'm not mistaken. I can look tomorrow morning if I remember. It says on it it's rated for 10k or 12k

Depends on the trailer coupler size. Most 2" couplers will be for 5k - 7k; 2 5/16" coupler can be rated up to 17k.

I've used an Anderson RapidHitch for several years with a 2" / 2 5/16" combo and 6" adjustable drop/rise (adjusts in ~1" increments up and down). It is good up past 10k though the 2" ball is limited to 7k lbs if I'm remembering correctly. It has developed a bit of play so I prefer to use a Curt forged stinger with capacity around 16k lbs. Both of those hitches have seen some serious tongue weight and trailer weight. Neither have had issue.

Great info! I was wondering if 2” has a limit and if I would have to get the multi ball.

    That’s a strong ball you’ve got.

Spoiler alert, your 4x4 CM is likely not rated for 10,200#. Closer to 8,800#. If you’re towing more than about 4000#, Toyota recommends a WDH and a trailer with brakes. The hitches for a WDH setup will be rated for heavier weights.

This is the truck I have with the tow haul that shows the max weight. Am I misunderstanding it?

Max is just that. Max for that body style. Any options the truck has subtracts from payload and towing. Check your door sticker

You are correct. Any options will subtract from that, but there aren't more than MAYBE a couple hundred pounds of options from the factory if every single box was checked when it was ordered. It wasn't until the SAE J2807 towing standard test was adhered to that we started losing serious capacity. My DC was derated to 9800 lbs... ;)

Thanks! What does the red and black parts of the sticker say? I’m wondering if this is still an option to buy. I do have a 7,500 ball so I wasn’t sure if I should upgrade to a higher one or not.

Critical equipment. Ball would only be half as strong without it.
