That's a plus! Sniv's speed shop and offroad sight seeing. Throw in some rock crawling. That's a trip I'd make.

Anybody know how to tune out the rpm flare on startup? I have the startup rpm adder set to zero, but it still goes up to like 1700rpm right when it starts and then immediately drops to idle. Startup airflow tables maybe?

I messed with this just a little over the summer. I only decreased the Startup Adder by 100rpms. At the same time I reduced the Base Setpoint > Base P/N >Target Idle Speed P/N by about 100-125rpms. When the engine was at operating temp with the Adder at 0, it seemed to need a little longer starter engagement, like there wasn't enough air or fuel and it would do what I can only describe as a "gradual start" where it would start from a very low rpm and then slowly come up to idle and then the starter would disengage when the ECU seemed to be satisfied that it was going to continue running. Cold starts didn't seem to change much at all. Right now I have Startup Adder at 200rpms and then Base Setpoint > Base P/N >Target Idle Speed P/N like this (below) compared to stock for the winter time so that starts below 30F are normal for warmups and reliable remote starts when I can't see/hear the truck. I went to this after getting distracted by the 2650 upgrade and getting that tuned.Target Idle.png

I've tried messing with the Airflow tables when I was trying to sort my injector rich starting issue and really didn't get anywhere. After installing the current injectors, I messed with them some more to see if I could recreate the rich starting, but no luck there either.

With that said, maybe try setting Startup Adder at 100rpms, dropping Base Setpoint > Base P/N >Target Idle Speed P/N by 10-20% and then Engine > Idle > Airflow > Startup Airflow ECT by 10-20% (the entire table, save a copy of your base tune though!) and see what you get. Maybe break each one of those changes into a separate flash/test to see what changes versus changing too many things at once and not being sure which tune change makes a difference. Then make 5% changes, then smaller and to more specific areas of the tables to narrow it down to what your goal is. Then let us know what you discover, and good luck!

Sorry fellas but allow me to break away from the serious tone of this thread - just for a brief moment - and share with you some exciting news from China.

I've been looking for a variable displacement turbo supercharger, and finally found one. I know, you're thinking, "PolishedTRD, ya dumbass, there's no such thing as a VaRiAbLe DiSpLaCeMeNt TuRbO sUpErChArGeR."

    Well you're wrong.

Behold, the 2.0-3.5L Turbocharger Supercharger remanufactured from the finest Chinesium! It even includes a flared threaded intake port.

I'll register it in Utah if I have to, if it means owning the greatest advancement in forced induction, since the leaf blower.

It's figuring out the damn fuel injectors that worries me!

What boggles the brain is how you are able to search for the latest and greatest in forced induction technology.

    It starts with ignorance.

I follow @reywcms build thread he created for his dad's truck. I don't know what "Sachi-Supercharged" means, so I Googled sachi supercharger, thinking there was some new amazing brand or perhaps tuner called Sachi. Instead of finding a reasonable answer, I was gifted the gift of google results.

    From the Google-

Sachi is a feminine name of Japanese origin. This charming name is a clipped version of the Japanese name Sachiko and translates to “child of joy”—certainly a fitting title for your family’s newest arrival! The name also has roots in Indian tradition, thought to mean “one who is related to the Sun God”, which would suit a baby with a bright disposition.

Anyone know what a P219A code is? It says "Fuel Trim Cylinder Balance Bank 1" and seems to indicate bank 1 is off? There's a P219B which is for bank 2, but that's not blown. Customers offroad only racecar with no cats has P219A, which I've never seen before and doesn't seem like it'd be related to the cat delete, and if it was I'd think P219B would also blow? Fuel trims are within 2% between the banks.

I've seen that code pop up on worn valves/seats. Odd, but after looking at everything else had a leakdown test done and once valve job was done all was good. Probably due to the motor ingesting fine particulate. Valves were cupped.

*Edit* Should probably note it was accompanied with an occasional P0300 as well.

Whatever this forum told me to do
I did a thing. (below is me hitting the "peak" button after parking at the whse.)

3/4 pedal onto the 225 on ramp. 48 degree humid morning.

    the truck made beautiful noises.

I probably got up to 5000 RPM and still did not hit the 500gm MAF alarm.

    AFR was a tasty 10.2

I finally got to see the effects of the HPtuners Transmission tuning.

    Me thinks I'll stop here.

    no.

I used the regular TRD unit. so, it's still essentially a stock intake. uses the same WIX filter.

only change I made was that I installed the flared inlet thing...which probably does nothing, but I was there & it was easy.

Hah...truth be told I was going 59mph this morning - to see if I could hit 18.5mpg.

got a little anxious when I saw I was first at the stop light to turn onto 225.

So, I gave it the beans. Man, it moved!
