So the whale watching boats have been spotting this pod or Orcas for months now and they seems to be just hanging around, just moving up and down the coast... Carlsbad, then La Jolla, Point Loma.

This video is just outside the surfline at Scripps pier in La Jolla, a spot where I surf often.

On one hand, I'd LOVE to be in the water with them... on the other hand, maybe not while they're having a Dolphin for dinner.

Yeah I liked it better before drones when we were blissfully ignorant.

There was a recent study done that basically said every time I go surfing there is at least one shark within 100 yards of you at some point during your session. Usually a juvenile so only 6, 8, 10 feet long, so that's super comforting.

I've seen a couple, but I'd be a damn fool to think that hundreds haven't seen me. I guess the fact that nobody's tried to taste me yet in my 48 years of surfing is a pretty good indicator that they must know I'm terribly bitter and not at all yummy.

Do you ever watch "The Malibu Artist" on YouTube? I prefer being ignorant to it as well. Seeing a GW shark while in the water is humbling for sure.

When I think of all the dumbshit things I did as a kid, in the ocean, with no thought or respect to it or the animals within it I cringe.

stuff like this a huge reminder… good lord I was an idiot.

I was thinking the same thing!

Funny thing, we are having lobster tail for dinner tonight.

They need to thin out the sea lions!! Those things living on boats and where ever else they decide to throw their weight around!
