Sequoia tailgate won't latch

14 sequoia tailgate won't latch coincidently happened after new battery replacement? New to the site although have visited before making repairs on my 16 Tundra 1794,which I just love. Retired, grandchildren and tavel(a lot of mountain time) it works flawless! Anyway any ideas on the gate?

 

No,that's the odd part. Has power where it should, rear window operates. Look at the reset procedure and forwarded that until I get there in a few days. Thanks for the reply!

 

You probably already did this , but did you check your fuses? Some people had this problem in reverse - would change the power latch & it wouldn’t work until they disconnected the battery to reset it …

 

Hey Thanks for the reply. It's pretty scary, got into town where truck is and it's all working! It's hard to know what to do! Lube the latch ,wait and see now. Thanks for getting back, I ll keep everyone posted, have a feeling it's temporary

 

I’d replace that thing while you still can . If it permanently bites the dust while shut, things will get complicated ….I replaced mine on a ‘12 platinum Part # 69110-0c041 prob the same on yours

 

Thanks for the reply. Sitting in a snow storm reminiscing about a jeep I had. Suspect was a fuel pump that was eradicate, and you guessed it left me in a jam too! Should have right!
