    Hello all,

I told myself I'd write up a build thread when I hit 1 year of ownership or 200k miles, which I've met both.

I purchased my 2000 AC 4x4 in Texas on January 21, 2023. When I parked it on base it sat at 193036mi. She was not a looker.

In attempt to keep this from spiraling into many pages I'm going to try and do a bullet format with a few pictures inserted.

    • Headlight/Side Marker housings and bulbs
    • ATOTO Wireless Carplay headunit
    • 193215mi seafoam in crankcase, 193303mi oil change
    • Feb 15, 2023 both diff's and transfer case fluid changes, new oem plugs and washers all around
    • March 1, 2023 replace front struts with bilstein 5100 and OME springs, OEM LBJ's with new bolts at same time
    • March 25, 2023 front pads and rotors changed with powerstop kit from rockauto
    • April 18, 2023 replace headlight bulbs with mini projectors
    pic2.jpg
    • April 19, 2023 replace rear struts with bilstein 5100's
    • pic3.jpg
    • April 29, 2023 replace sway bar link bushings/washers with oem
    • May 6, 2023 acquire shell :)
    • pic4.jpgpic5.jpg
    • Shell was infested with ants and all windows leaked badly. I popped all windows and frames out, resealed with butyl tape, and put new rubber stripping between shell and bed. Zero leaks now.
    • May 18, 2023 delete rear seats, cause why not? More room for tools. pic6.jpg
    • May 19, 2023 replace all 4 door speakers with infinity reference speakers
    • June 10, 2023 replace stock exhaust manifolds with short tube headerspic7.jpg
    • An example of how the extra backseat room is being utilized
    • pic8.jpg
    • June 24, 2023 transmission dumped and filled
    • July 15, 2023 rear brake shoes, new oem wheel cylinders, oem drums turned at O'Reilly's
    • July 22, 2023 pay shop for alignment and wheel balance
    • July 21, 2023 drive 1000 miles to visit family.
    • pic9.jpg
    • While home, I got my miata out of storage to give some exercise, and performed the timing belt and water pump service on the tundra.
    • pic10.jpg
    • Here is the kit I ordered on ebay and everything that went in
    • pic11.png pic12.jpg
    • Timing belt service completed at 197217mi, then my test drive was 1000mi back to base.
    • I developed a massive exhaust leak on the drive back and was concerned it was a failed weld so I ordered JBA short tubes before doing the job a second time. It ended up being a gasket failure but the JBA headers are definitely a better product than the (pacesetters?) I put in first.

    • November 13, 2023 install reverse camera in tailgate handle
    • Dec 30, 2023 eclipse 200k miles
No doubt I'm forgetting odds and ends. I will either update this original post or make corrections/additions in the comments.

Looking great man! How are you liking the JBA headers?

    Thanks!

I want to say there was some more get up and go after putting them in. The sound is not noticeably different (apart from no more exhaust leak), but I drive like an old man anyhow.
I've just ordered the dirty deeds industries exhaust with the 16x5 muffler that should pair nicely.

Love the color and build. Looks great. How are you liking the 5100 ome set -up. Any issues with raising front. ?

No issues, very glad to have payed extra for the coilovers pre-assembled.
Here is a shot of the before and after (I'm sure they have settled some since but I of course didn't take any measurements)
    leveled.jpg
The struts and springs I replaced in the front were old moogs and the struts in the rear were ranchos so YMMV.

Looks good what OME springs did you go with and what clip are the 5100s set at? How’s the UCA?

You can find the kit I bought on suspensionlifts SKU: BTU00C, I got the 2884 springs, and the clips are on the lowest setting I believe (Clip 1). No compatibility issues with stock UCA's.
