These are the best tires I have ever ran and I see no reason to run anything else.

Where I live, and where I travel to, means I need a tire capable on everything from ice to deep sand and rocks. I love trying new tires and I have tried about a dozen different flavors the past decade. I have been running these tires on my 4Runner the past three years and am blown away at both the wear and the grip on snow and ice. These tires wear like iron, yet are pliable and grip ice and packed snow nearly as good as a snow tire. They defy logic.

At 35k miles when I traded my 4Runner in on the Tundra, they still had over 60% of the tread left and were undamaged despite multiple trips in the Arizona desert on sharp rocks.

These tires do awesome in everything and ride nice and smooth with minimal road noise. I am putting a set on the Tundra next week.

I did a review of them on YouTube of their snow performance...

    And after 25k miles...

I recently put on the Nokian Outpost AT after ordering my RRW Wheels. I was open to trying something new from a relatively unknown tire brand here in the US. Especially when 35's for KO2's and Wildpeaks were hitting $350-400+ at the time of purchase. I also didnt want an E-Rated tire for my application this time around. It appears their pricing have gone up now that they've broken into the US market more.

Marketing hype says they're a top Finnish tire brand that has been producing for 100+ years specializing in adverse weather condition performance.

It also didn't hurt that I picked them up for $199 per tire shipped to my door for 35's. They've been on for about a year now. I am extremely happy with them. Snow and wet performance is wonderful, highway noise is miniscule. We have super slippery plastic soil on our property and it does just fine in 4WD. For the price (I paid) nothing can beat it. Assuming they go back to the standard $350 per tire now that they've broken into the US market, I would still be hard pressed to go back to my previous KO2 relationship. Couldn't speak to the Wildpeaks.

Don't be afraid of the name if shopping for a great all round tire, these have seriously impressed me.

Does anyone have personal experience with the Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse AT? Don't need or want an aggressive AT tire, but want something with good road manners as well as off-road in mild conditions. Replacing the Michelins that came on the truck. If anyone has run these tires I would love to hear your feedback.

No experience with those Goodyears, but do have a tire that might be perfect for your needs.

The Cooper Discoverer AT3 is a tire I ran on my Ram 1500 for a year. I was amazed at how quiet and smooth it was, as well as it's surprisingly good performance in dirt, rocks, and light mud.

The only reason I didn't buy another set is that it didn't do as well in the snow as I needed. Since you are from Georgia, then that shouldn't concern you. My cousin works for Goodyear/Cooper up in NC and I get discounts on their products, so I've tried the Cooper AT3, Cooper Evolution MT, Cooper ST MAXX, Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac, Goodyear Wrangler Authority AT, and the Goodyear Wrangler UltraTerrain AT. The UltraTerrain is the only tire I will run as long as it is available in the size I need. Incredible tire. But, you don't need it's performance in the snow and wet, so the slight trade-off in noise is not worth it for you.

Regarding the Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse AT... The TireRack review I read said it was much lacking wet weather traction, which may be a significant concern for you.

The Cooper Discoverer AT3 did very well in wet weather driving, according to my experience and the TireRack testers results.

    Tire Test Results : Testing On-/Off-Road All-Terrain Tires 2021 (tirerack.com)

My non-professional recommendation based on personal experience and limited research would be to avoid the Goodyears and look at the Coopers. There may be other, better, cheaper options that would work for you, but the Goodyear's are probably best avoided.

My Coopers on my old Ram...

I used them in some pretty extreme conditions.

Wow, that was a very in depth response to my inquiry! Been having second thoughts about the GY Workhorse for several reasons, lack of availability, wet surface traction, tread life. Those Cooper tires you have seem pretty dang nice, but my second choice would be the Goodyear Wrangler Adventure with Kevlar. Had those on a Tacoma years ago and they ride very smooth, work well off road in moderate conditions, and have 60K mile tread warranty. You got my attention with the Coopers for sure. Thank you for your detailed response, much appreciated.

As winter is approaching I am looking to buy new tires. I bought my 13 RW DC used and it came with Discover AT3 XLT which I believe are date coded 2015 and have a few plugs in one or two tires. I think these are loud compared to Duratracs even.
I had a 2015 trd pro with 60% life KO2's on it which I didn't really mind because of the dual exhaust. I have had 3 Sets of Duratracs on my previous 2003 Tacoma double cab and didn't mind the noise because I lived in upper Michigan and they worked amazing in the snow.
Looking to move onto wildpeak at3w now and going the stock size 285/70r17 E range. Just hoping these are quieter.

Interesting. I would have expected more siping for 3 peak rated tire like that. Tread pattern reminds me a little of the Falken Rubitreks I just installed on my Tundra. I can see this being a good performer.

Nokian Hakkapeliitta is the best SNOW tire. However, Nokian production has been on hold for a year as they WERE made in Russia. They had to sneak the molds over here, and I believe we should soon seen new production in the US!

New to the forum. 2024 1794. Just completed 3” SST lift, stayed with factory 20” Wheels, replaced 265/60R20s with 35x12.5R20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. No rubbing and plenty of clearance. Much better stance now. IMG_6182.jpgIMG_6204.jpg IMG_6207.jpgIMG_6206.jpg

I had a set of ST Maxx's on my old first gen and loved them. I had them on for years (probably too long), and they wore great. They were a nice mix of A/T and M/T, and did fairly well in the snow even with their bigger tread block design. I did find that the angled tread blocks did cause the truck to pull slightly in one direction, but it was very mild. Noise was never very bad, nothing at all like a true M/T. They were heavy for their size if I recall, but they handled abuse very well.

The guy who bought my truck from me drove it straight to Florida from PA the day after purchase, and then continued to drive it all over the country until finally replacing the tires once they were very worn down.

    Nice!
    Amazon had 285 75 17 for $289 each, so I snagged some.

Very nice! Yeah I'm sure you'll be happy with them. I have been enjoying my Maxxis RAZR M/T, but I think I'd like to step back down to a hybrid style next time. I wish they made the ST Maxx in 285/75r18. Oh well!

Can anyone speak firsthand or send a link to mpg differences between the Falken Wildpeak A/T3Ws and BFG AT KO2s? (Same size, load rating). I see the KO2s are lighter but saw an article claiming the Falkens get better fuel economy...

I'm looking at 35x12.50R17s. Need to replace my current stock wheels & tires (KO2 285 70R18s)
