Hahah I know I know. The only reason I stay subscribed to this thread is for the banter.

Its all in good fun, besides both trucks are both fine. If it wasn't a Tundra it would've been a F150 EB or PB. But then I saw this video posted on this thread multiple times about a F150 dying on the test drive and that was it for me. Have you seen the video? You want me to send it to you? Its been weeks since it was last resurrected :rofl::rofl:

Yes, it's OHC and would require higher rpm, I would prefer pushrod but that would require moving up to a heavy duty (which I'm also considering)

Your trailer/load is light, but if you’re gonna be towing 90% of the time, I’d probably look at a gasser three-quarter ton

Seems like it's just the nature of the beast. The 5.0 was designed to power a muscle car and then tweaked with cams and intake and exhaust to get a little bit more low RPM torque to move a pickup around. It was not built specifically to power a truck. But for most people who never tow anything or never tow anything over a few K they will never care because she sings beautifully and runs strong unladen.

I was leaning hard towards following through with my 5.0 order just to keep it real as a lifelong V8 fanboy. But in the end somehow after repeatedly telling the salesman Homie's gonna go old school on his ass no matter what he says there is a 570 lb-ft Twin Turbo hybrid in my driveway that sounds unimpressive but outruns my old Challenger Rt by a couple 10ths.

He originally just wanted to sell me a standard Ecoboost and I said no super techy high strung motors for me, nope buddy not today.

This, honestly. Depends what youre looking for trim-wise. But they should still be in the realm of affordability. May have go gently used, but i agree with bannerman here.

This is interesting. Using the Build & Price feature on the manufacturers web sites the MSRP on a Heavy Duty is actually less. I'm only comparing MSRP right now, don't know what actual selling price would be.

2024 Toyota SR5 Crewmax 4x4 with premium package that adds trailer tow mirrors and load leveling air suspension,+; MSRP $60,389
    2024 Ford F150 XLT Supercrew 4x4 with V8, trailer tow package, 3.73 electronic locking axle,+; MSRP $60,665
2024 GMC Sierra 3500 HD Pro 4x4 with 6.6 gas V8, locking rear diff, trailer mirrors, aux. battery, 220 amp alternator,+; MSRP $58,415

I've got to stop reading and get out there and drive each to compare seats and handling.

This is a great forum. I appreciate being able to discuss different brands without getting bashed.

Absolutely! Just a note, the pro trim is VERY stripped down. Think no carpet, rubber floors type base model, but it sounds like in your case that may still be fine as it is for 90% towing use.
Chevy LT or GMC SLE may be more comparable trim wise to an SR5 or XLT Ford.

I actually added carpet and some other options to the pro that are included in that price. The next trim up has more than I want. The only reason I went XLT on the Ford was to get the V8 and trailer tow, can't get that combo on the XL this year. Same with Toyota, I would rather have SR but can't get trailer towing equipment.
I'm old school and prefer simplicity.

And in the case of the GM, I think you actually get to go up to an SLT to get heated front bucket seats, if that's a priority.

Yes, heated seats in a gm could add about $15,000! Luckily I'm not interested.
Just priced the Chevrolet version and it's $56,770. It's got halogen headlights vs LED on GMC, other than that I'm not sure why the $1,645 price difference (maybe cause it's uglier?)
