Did you find that your truck still had the larger supercharged intake lid and that was causing your trouble codes? Just curious how you’re making out.

It has the TRD lid,and somebody has put a stick intake hose on it. I believe it has the supercharger tune in the ECU, it no supercharger hence the codes.

It could be the stock tune, but that is the lid for a supercharger intake which uses a 4” MAF housing instead of the stock 3.5” MAF housing. The stock tune can’t work with the larger MAF tube unless it gets tuned for it, so if they switched everything else including the tune back to stock but not the intake lid that could be causing all of your codes for sure. I actually just switched my stock 3.5” intake lid over to the larger 4” magnuson one to work with my Harrop supercharger and had it retuned for it. You may find a buyer for that TRD lid in the general supercharger thread.

From what I understand, and from talking with Keith @dirtydeeds once Toyota puts the SC tune into the ECU,its permanent and can’t be taken off.

My attempt to fix is return the air intake back to stock, and get a stock ECU with no tune and see how it goes

I gotcha. Alternatively you could also just leave everything as it is and just get a custom tune done by OTT, DAP, Yotawerx etc. which will give you additional benefits to the trucks drivability. It will simply flash over the tune that is currently on your ECU using HPtuners or VFtuner. I personally would rather do that then swap out the ECUs.

I know absolutely nothing about ECU tuning or where to begin. For ease of use purposes,a $126 ECM with 92,000 miles on it seemed like a good place to start. Go back to stock and see what happens from there.
