CU has been playing great. Hope they can pull this off. Longshot though

    edit: that's a big no.

Buccee’s is the Shamballa of rest stops

    best snacks
    Best restrooms
    Clean
    friendly

on another level as rest stops go

and they generally have Tesla chargers

the hippo breakfast taco is quite necessary if you are on the early crew

if you bring the wife, they will find all kinds of crap to buy

The hype is definitely for real from all the responses I've gotten. Next time I'm down that way, I'm going to have to check this out for myself. It's only a 2 hour drive each way. But I do have HS kids in sports so the drive happens more often then it used to... funny enough my wife and kid just passed this just 2 days ago at a track meet they went to in FOCO. Had I had a clue, I would've had them stop and grab me some jerky. :notsure:

PS: @nobodyintexas, sorry about your coon re-invasion. Their family's run bigger than we know.

It’s 40 mins from me, but I barely have the patience to deal with people as it is. I can only imagine a (new) crowded place.

    Patio came along well
We’re ripping out all the sod in the back in the next couple of weeks and adding turf and more rocks. Tired of maintaining it year round. I enjoy maintaining the front yard

Thanks man. We enjoy it so far. One of my projects is to partial cover the outdoor kitchen area.

Is the cost vs trouble worth it if you only plan on staying another year? Turf is really nice though and could be a good selling point as well.

Smoked ribs are the best. A lil jelly here because I haven't used mine since last summer. And seeing this fires me up to go make a Costco run. Do you use your own rubs or do you buy the pre mix stuff? Im a home made guy all the way.

This is the first time I'm using the gas grill with a smoke box.

Sometimes I use my own rub and other times I use a premix. For prime rib we use our own.

I've never used that kind of setup either. I've seen those smoke boxes and always wondered how good they do. Interested to hear about your results. I'm sure that as long as you keep the temp in the right zone you'll be good to go. I use 4 different thermometers whenever I smoke. One goes inside the grill itself to monitor temps, other 3 go into the meats i'm smoking. They route into a device that monitors temps. It also came with a secondary device that I can keep in my house so I can keep on eye on temps when I'm not hanging out at the grill.

Wind started kicking up and a few flakes. Moved my operation into the house. I just couldn't keep temperature.

Yessir. With the rebates the city is offering (I do need to read into them more) and I was able to get this guy down to $3k for it. We’ve used him in the past for other projects, and have referred him around quite a bit so it’s not a huge money investment, but should add a bit more equity into I think
