I recently bought an 05 tundra with the stepside bed. The first thing I noticed was the tail light housing is odd and difficult to find if needed. My main question is will standard 05 tundra accessories like roll bars and tool boxes fit the step side? I noticed the bed rail has no holes just the plastic going full length. Are any holes under it or would I have to drill for accessories to fit? so far I am not finding much info on stepside beds for the tundras. I love how they look so I dont understand why I never see them .

When done up right, they can look pretty awesome. Still look a little weird from behind, and I'd never do this with a 4WD, but ... I think this looks awesome in its own right.

Y'all be nice. All Tundras are welcome here.
OP, I don't think you'll find much aftermarket support for that bed unfortunately. You have have to do some trial and error.

To answer OPs original question, no. Standard Tundra bed accessories are unlikely to fit the narrower bed rails of the stepside. Bedcovers, toppers, tool boxes etc. will not due to bed rail width differences. Not sure anyone is running a roll bar since it's the 21st century though.....

you can find roll bar/bed racks that are bolt on. I wouldn't recommend them if you actually want a true roll bar, but if you want the look (like I do) they do the job.

you can find them listed as roll bars, bed racks or chase racks

True, but I think a roll bar would be cool, but only with KC lights on top. Retro style. IIRC, someone did a Tundra up like the Back to the Future p/u.

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
Can you even get those tube front and rear bumpers for newer Toyota Tacomas and Tundras? I've tried looking but can only find them for Jeeps.

I have an odd question. I have a 2000 Tundra Access Cab I just recently purchased and the bed exterior is tore up beyond repair so I’ve been on the lookout for another bed priced decently and the same color (green). Yesterday I ran across a 2003 Tundra Access Cab for cheap with the same color only its a stepside. It’s not gonna be in any truck shows! It’s just an old work truck. Will that 2003 stepside fit on my 2000? That is without a ton of alterations?!! Any info on this will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

Yes. You’ll lose some valuable bed space, but it will fit.

That’s what I wanted to hear! Much appreciated!! I believe theres quite a difference in the looks of the rear lights so maybe it won’t look too odd!

I’m still looking and hoping another option as cheap will come along. Nothing is set in stone yet. But I got it to be just an old work truck so if I have to go that route it’ll still accomplish what was intended! I just won’t be out chasing the women in it!! Hell I’m too old to chase em anyway! At my age I’d be afraid I might actually catch one! Na! I’ll stick to fishing!

I like the Toyota stepside bed's,
They look more like a trophy truck style, and kinda have a 50-60s smooth, curvey style.
It looses 4" from front to the rear tailgate,
If you look directly from behind it with the tailgate up and closed, I see a 1/4 of a circle shape or ball / sphere illusion in the design.
I have an extra one I'm probably going to repair some rust and bedline it and fab it onto a T-100, double cab or a 2nd generation tundra with a 5.7.
I was originally going to make it a trailer and tow it behind my step side.
The farmers in New England did that alot.
