I'm draining batteries so hunted down the root of the problem and it is a 5amp draw through my alt-S fuse. My question is if this can be related to anything other than the alternator. It is a new Toyota alternator 27060-0F050 from ToyotaPartsDeal so I'm at least a little skeptical the new one is a dud.

This is probably a stupid question but is there a relay that could have gotten fused, causing drain through the alt-s fuse area? Internet research seems to have everyone pointing at the diode in the alternator itself.

    Thank you for your time.
