To those who have one and installed it themselves; was installing the LOMAX relatively easy, could one person do it alone? Keep in mind I am single with no family or friends, just a white collar guy with no real experience with tools other than a socket wrench and screwdrivers.

I'm looking at LOMAX and the Bakflip MX4, whichever one is easier to install for one person.

Can't speak for the Lomax but all the Bakflips whether folding or revolver are installable by an average strength man of average mechanical ability. I think most of the usual names for toppers are that way. Most you can Google and their will be a video of a single guy doing it. They may have done multiple installs so you may not be able to to do it as fast as the video guy. But not be in a hurry and follow the directions you should be fine

No experience with LOMAX, but I’ve installed both the MX4 on my 2012 and Revolver X4S on my 2023 by myself with no issues.

I did my Lomax myself. Easy peasy. Love it. 2 years old and looks and works flawlessly.

Follow the instructions and you'll be fine. If the part is listed as compatible for the truck you'll be good to go. If you can lick a window you can install a bed cover.

Just take your time... YouTube is your friend.

It ain't hard, most important thing is to make sure it's installed nice and even/square... might want to buy a measuring tape too. You got this.

Who knows? After you accomplish that you may feel so supremely confident in your newfound skills that you decide to install some lighting back there!

The Lomax trifold hard cover is great, I’ve had mine since 2021 with no issues. It’s easy to remove as well, if you’re standing in the bed, takes a few seconds. My friends liked it so much they all got the same thing. Install should be sub 30mins and closer to 15.

Yep head on down to your local harbor freight and buy a set of Pittsburg sockets and some Pittsburg open end box wrenches too (doesn't have to be fancy and they have a life time warranty if you ever full hulk and break them). As someone else mentioned too grab a tape measure while you're there so you can check that you get the same numbers when measuring each side to get it square (or just eyeball it). Take your time it will be easy and if you have weather stripping to put at the front of the bed make sure to clean that surface first with some rubbing alcohol and you'll be golden doodle.

MIne is supposed to be delivered this Saturday, so I will post back and let you know how it goes. I'm below average in most ways, so this should be a good reference for you

I just did it yesterday on my 2019 TRD Pro. It was pretty simple. My truck has the OEM bed rail system, and I got the Stance with that option. I thought the captured bolts for attaching the rails to the bed rail could have been a little longer. I swear the instructions said to use a 1/2" wrench to tighten them, but it was 7/16" for the 4 clamps per side of the bed, and the only 1/2" were the very front against the bulkhead. Getting the little cleats that go on the roof positioned and marked (blue painter's tape) was tedious, and since they have magnets, you have to be very precise when you go to stick them on after applying the included 3M adhesive primer. There's a video on YT of a guy who did a thorough job of all the steps on his Tundra.

You'll need to use a short extension with your torque wrench when you torque the front 1/2" bolts to 20ft lbs and the 7/16" clamp nuts to 10ft lbs to clear the fender well.
