2013 CM, base stereo, rearview mirror backup camera, otherwise no frills.

Like many I'm an older man, not old, but not young either. Listening to the radio is still my favorite source of sound when I'm on the go. But about a year ago my favorite station was moved to an HD Radio freq. My wifes 2016 Prius has HD on the stock stereo and although the stereo as a whole is a pos, I can still listen to HD.

I currently have a silly chinese android based hu in the Tundra, but frankly all of these units are trash when it comes to the radio, which is fine cause they're mainly made for connecting phones. (I reviewed about 12 different ones over the last year).

My only requirements are BT, steering controls, and HD Radio. (And keeping the backup camera in the mirror or hu)

So here are my options - what do you guys think?
    1. I can spend a pile of money on a name brand hu. Not really interested because there are so many bells and whistles on them I don't need that I'd be paying for.
    2. I can use an add on HD Radio tuner, but with so many out there I'm lost and having another screen stuck to the dash seems silly.
    3. I can get one of these that I think* will work in my truck for about $120 (says it was in a 2013)

Depends on what you want to spend and how much of the wiring you want to do your self

If you plan on driving the tundra for a couple more years or longer.

I would go with Option 1
You will be surprised at how much of a difference the radio will sound by changing out the head unit.
To get Bluetooth , rear view camera and built-in HD Radio Tuner.
I would look at the Kewnood excelon DMX709S from Crutchfield on sale for $399
then get the dash kit with the CRUX swrty-61s of you order from Crutchfield the kit will be $81.96

Sonic electronics has the JVC-M788BH on sale for $299 if you want to go lower on price than the Kenwood. It is basically the same thing.

Looks like this one is listed for 2013 early production and the 61N is for later. Maybe the 61N is for me as the 61S doesn't mention backup camera, and mine has a date of AUG 2013.

I would call crutchfield to confirm the model to use.
I was just going by what the was on the website

I have the crux in my 2016 tundra and it works fine
