$119 is a smoking deal for a bidirectional scan tool

Sounds like it paid for itself already!

I was getting ready to ask the same thing. Glad I didn’t buy it and find out the hard way. Still great deal for a scan tool though.

One of the reviews on that link said they used it on a Tundra to reset the alcohol density. I may grab one and if it doesn’t work I can always return it and upgrade to the next best. Thanks for the heads up on this OP.

Is sold by a third party on Amazon and it may be harder to return it.

It’s got a lot of stuff, but a crappy manual, and not very intuitive. Touchscreen, but a lot of “agree to” screens to get to another function…Kind of wonky, really, and I’ve just had to sit and play with it. I’ve got a less capable Innova that’s been easier to use. The key thing was my main reason to get it, it is Toyota/Lexus specific …it wants to be on your WiFi for updating stuff
Kinda fun being able to tweak all warning sounds, length of time lights stay on…not important but fun!!!

I use a Launch scan tool, can't remember the exact model, but it is one of the bi-directional. There is a feature on it that allows you to purchase all of the Toyota specific "full function" scan tool options. It basically can do everything at that point.

I've used it for so many things, including actuating the ABS pump to bleed a new pump and brakes, reset TPMS, program keys, data log. It connects to the internet and emails me the diagnostic reports and charts. Very good tool, though there isn't really a manual.

Oh wow, I didn't know you could turn of the seatbelt buzzers. I hate those things. I always wear my seatbelt but sometimes my wife has to unbuckle to help the kids in the back and it always drives me crazy.

It's hilarious how the dealer tries to justify the cost of cutting keys and programming remotes. They even schedule it for hours to make it seem like it's more involved than it is.

Is $139 now with the $30 coupon. It was $119 when I posted. Amazon sucks at jacking up and down prices.

Do you get the elite Toyota one or just the regular Toyota one?

Ordered it. Showed up. Plugged in to truck. Turn truck on. Unit beeps. Screen never turns on. Guess I'll have Amazon send me another one.

Hey everyone, take this for what it’s worth but here’s what happened when I ordered the Launch x431 Elite Toyota from Amazon this weekend. Grabbed it while it was $130 with tax before the price went up. Was watching videos and reading up on it so I’d have some idea of what to do. Read a couple of places, here included, that Amazon wasn’t authorized to sell them. Made me a little nervous but figured things may have changed and now they could be? Fast forward to yesterday and it arrives. I open the Amazon package and the banner that should say (images I’ve seen anyway) “Creader Elite Toyota” instead says “Creader Elite T” see picture below.
I searched the web trying to see if I got a bad label or if they’d sent me the wrong version but came up empty handed. I searched more on the authorized vendor issue and found more stating that Amazon was not. I finally decided to request for return and received a note that the company would refund the purchase price within 7 days after receiving it and bank may take a few days after that. Sold by third party but shipped from Amazon, but really not a concern to me as I want to make sure I have a legit scan tool. Shipped back this morning and emailed Launch USA. Below is the response I received when I asked them if the one I ordered through Amazon was authorized.
Now I’m not saying any of them ordered from Amazon won’t work, I just knew that mine looked off. The word Toyota was missing and the straight banner versus others being “bent” upwards and Toyota being written on it. It was enough for me to question it and not want to risk plugging it in to my truck.
I’ll continue researching and either buy one direct from Launch USA or get one of the other options. I just got purchase happy at the price point and the reviews I’d seen here and online seemed positive. That made be grab it on Amazon. But I wanted to pass this on just in case anyone has had a similar experience.

I bought this off Amazon then sent it back because I didn't like the interface. I should've nuked my seat belt buzzer while I had it because the more expensive, nicer XTOOL D7 won't delete the buzzer

I’m definitely not educated on the Launch company or their tools for sure. But every video or picture I saw looked like this picture below. Could be a non-issue but just made me not like it. IMG_6015.jpg

Got my replacement one in. Seems to work. Poked around for a while but couldn’t find the option to reset the alcohol. Found where it was monitoring the alcohol percentage. With the truck off it was bouncing from 0 to 14.9% and at one point spiked to 90%. I tried looking for the reset option in the mall but after 10mins of sweat rolling down my face I gave up. I’ll try again today or tomorrow. Got a 3hr road trip and want to see if there’s an actual difference.

Well I’m sending this piece of junk back. Took it 45mins to connect to the truck and then it told me the software was corrupt and to delete it and redownload it. Guess I’ll save a bit more and buy the $300 one.

That sucks. I was looking forward to it. Which scanner are you choosing next? I’m debating between the two that’s was discussed in this thread.
