Hello, hope you guys can help. My dad is buying a 2023 Limited 7k miles (July/23 build date) private party and pretty good deal I think, well below KBB. Can he still buy a warranty through Toyota platinum, like from Jerry or another dealer? I told him to call the dealership but thought I would ask here.

I purchased mine through Jerry. Far less than the dealership, dramatically so. I am very pleased with the entire process. Received the official Toyota documentation soon after making my payment, and confirmed I was registered with the Platinum coverage in the official Toyota computer system after that at my dealership. Highly recommended. I also just went for the maintenance plan. Not as crucial and some may argue that’s not worth it, but I like having everything covered including the major maintenance milestones.

Thought it was original owner only.
Used may be out of luck.

As long as the truck is still under 36,000 miles you can buy official Toy warranty from anywhere (we do recommend 'our source' here of course).

Why not ask the Jerry/etc directly re: used truck/2nd owner...

I was pretty sure you have to be the original owner to buy the extended warranty.

He emailed Jerry. Just waiting to hear back. I keep getting conflicting messages, although someone on the rav4 forum said he’s done it as a used buyer.

I’m getting conflicting messages on the fine print. I asked at time of sale if any/all Toyota dealers will honor. A resounding YES.
Then I read the fine print says ‘Your Selling Dealer will provide…’
Called Toyota and they won’t confirm but think all should honor it. Would not give me a confirmation number.
My Selling Dealer will not be servicing it since I have 5 dealers closer.
Im no lawyer but seems clearly written. Am I just being too black and white?IMG_2933.jpg

I called a local dealership. They said they will happily sell me a warranty for a vehicle bought via private sale, as long as it’s less than 36k miles, so that clears that up lol

    Toyota factory Platinum warranty?
You didn’t specify if it was what they were offering or not.

You can add the Toyota factory platinum to a used truck within 3/36. I have done it.

Yes you can add a warranty as long as it is under the original 36,000 mile factory warranty period.

Of course, they'd happily sell you a warranty. We're talking about the factory Platinum warranty.

Yes he can, as long as the truck is within the 3yr/36k warranty.

Richard at Oroville Toyota (ca) has competitive pricing. Was super straight up when I called him the first time. Ended up going with him. As a note, he can offer warranties NATION WIDE.

Yea. Talked to Richard on the phone when I called dealers in Ca. Hit up both Troy and Jerry as well. I think I heard back from Troy with prices but he said he couldn’t sell to Ca. His prices were on par with Richard’s (but Richard can sell nation wide). Never heard back from Jerry.

Richard is on this thread answering some questions. I think he said he and Troy have a $200 margin.

My experience with him was great. Gave me great prices before I found the threads here.

Ok I know I'm a bit late to this thread lol but Im looking to purchase 2023 Toyota tundra capstone via private party, but of course I've done a little research and heard mixed reviews about these hybrid trucks. So I came here looking for some answers then I seen this 100k mile Toyota extended warranty and something about Jerry?? Can someone point me in the right direction because I'm really interested in buying this tundra but want to know that I'm covered if something happens unexpectedly after purchase.
