    05 tundra. Has anyone replaced their blower motor? Mine works 100% but the rotational squeal it's giving is so loud I can't run the ac. It's a very fast squeak squeak squeak. It's only when the AC is on and it's loudest at speed. It's the worst on the freeway. Just not sure what else it could be. It's coming from under my glove compartment. If the motor is working fine is there a bearing or something I can grease to stop the noise? Thanks in advance.

    pull it out to see if anything is caught in the fins. I think it's like 3-4 bolts/screws. Super easy to get in and out. I'd then spin it and just add some LIGHT lubricant and see if it helps. Issue with lube is it attracts dust so take it easy. If that doesn't fix it. New blower it is

    edit: I'd also try to find something with as little odor as possible.

    I replaced mine. Check to make sure the squirrel cage is clean. If no debris bearings or brushes may be done and to replace. I recommend OEM. There is a thread on using the quieter Lexus more in our trucks.

    Ooooh, I'm interested to hear more about this one. I don't think I've seen that thread.

    Mine does have a little faint rhythmic tap when I'm at level 2 or above (I run the fan 24/7 at lowest speeed). I've thought about replacing it. I've never been happy with the air output and noise.

    I was curious if the form factor would be roughly the same, i.e. it was supported in other years or models. I'll need to do a little more digging, but Toyota is only listing 1 model (I'm assuming LC) and '07-'21 support. I'll see what fleaBay says. Sometimes their fitment stuff is more descript.

    This listing seems to suggest it fits a wide array of Toyota from '05+, including Avalon, Highlander, T4R, Tundra, etc. and even a Dodge (Dodge Journey? Never heard of one)

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/233799730154

    Maybe I'll get an aftermarket unit just to play. IIRC, it's only like two/three bolts to drop the blower out, install should be 5-10 mins. I'll compare connectors later. That thread suggests a slight improvement in speed for the '07+, so I wouldn't doubt if it was better than our '00-'06. It's just a matter of fitment.

    3 bolts and one electrical connector. I think Jewett may know the answer. My 2000 blower looks just like the one my 84 pickup had. Suspect parts like this rarely change over the years.

    I get the sneaky suspicion 2005/2006 may've been a crossover year where they changed the part (Murphy's Law).

    I have replaced mine twice. It truly is a very simple operation. I have not used Toyota's replacement since it's so expensive. I bought my first replacement from Amazon and the second from Ebay.
    This is what I searched for:

    You installed the Tundra replacement, or the Land Cruiser replacement, as an upgrade?

    I realize OEM is more $$, but the fact you've had to buy one in a fraction of the time the OEM lasted should tell you all you need to know. All that cheap Chinese bullshit sold thru scAmazon and fleaBay is ultimate polluting the ground for the future generations, all to delay a hit to the wallet. We're ultimately polluting to save a buck, and expecting the next generations to pay for it. Just buy OEM and it'll last another 15yrs, just like the original.

    It’s literally in this thread, few posts up? That’s why I am confused and asking. I was talking about buying aftermarket on that part just to see if it’d fit before committing to OEM. But …

    When I replaced mine at about 200K, the dealer OEM blower was cheaper than the aftermarket part at NAPA.

    The larger Dual Cab Blower fits in my 04 AC so I use that one which really pays off in the summer and winter.

    And yes, the online Toyota blower is cheaper than aftermarket.

    Also I'll add

    not having a swivel head, wobble head, and a myriad of extensions....are you even tool box?

    It's like if someone said "oh it's not THAT simple....that bolt requires an Allen key..."

    I can't think of a single vehicle I've ever worked on where you didn't need a few special ratchet attachments/extensions

    Totally uncalled for. Not how we roll here. Dude wasn't attacking you, you take it personally, and sling every insult in the book? Wrong community for it.

    If you want to behave like an insecure middle school kid, take it to Facebook, where similar behavior is rampant. Or come to terms with the fact he's not insulting you, simply offering a suggestion, and you edit your post so you don't sound like a tween chode, then move on.

    I have the glasses on, I'm an older fucker. I think the issue is maybe with your personality, frankly.

    PS - socket swivel set is under $10 shipped on scAmazon. I checked Harbor Freight and Northern Tool, similar pricing at both. This isn't me questioning your manhood or anything, you can put away the semi-automatic keyboard.

    lol "calling me out" :rofl:

    And as being one of those that has met with members of this forum; I'm sure they can vouch I'm not 5' 2" but I am Asian, so fair assumption but, incorrect.

    you should chill; it wasn't a personal attack, this is NOT Facebook.

    also, you can go to autozone and buy a 3/8 swivel for $2.99

    Yeah, apparently the Land Cruiser or LX470 motor does also? And may blow more air. See link in reply #7 above.

    Rockautos spec sheet says the blower fan diameter is larger on the ac, but doesnt give the depth.

    DC=5.75 x 2.5
    AC=5.866 x ??
