Hey all looking for some help. I bought a 2004 double cab but it did not come with the master key and no remotes. Can someone tell me what master key I need and remotes so I can program them?

Go to a dealership with proof of ownership and your VIN#. They will cut you a new OEM master key, and it shouldn't cost a fortune. I think I saw $25 or $35 from other members.

As for fobs, please see the "Electrical stuff ... and keys" section of THIS THREAD.

Make special note that some DC had immobilizer, and came with aftermarket alarms installed by the dealer. But before you get too invested in your truck, read that thread. Take special note of frame rust warnings, just b/c you bought the truck in Cali doesn't mean it spent its whole life there.

First. Pop out your ashtray and see if you can spot a little Redbox back there.
If yes: you can get a new key cut from Toyota like this post says

So I pulled the ash tray and don’t see a red box. I see a pink plug possibly.

I would still pop by a dealership. They'll be able to tell you based on VIN whether or not they can cut a new key for you.

If you're one of the unlucky DC owners with a truck that hass immob, they may charge extra to program the immobizer portion of the key, but if you're telling me you're not using a master key, I'm suspecting you don't. Plenty of people on here have been able to have new keys cut from nothingness at the dealer on earlier years w/o immob.

Don't bother buying a remote from them. All the info you need is in the section of that thread I linked.
