How difficult of a process was it and did you replace both the o ring and the figure 8?

Read the threads, you'll see. The "Toyota Maintenance" channel also has a video covering the process. But there's a bit of difference depending on your cab type. I just can't recall, maybe it was the Double Cab guys who have the hidden bolt behind the A/C compressor bracket or whatever.

@jerryallday provided links to two threads above, click through on those, they'll walk you through the process. One of them probably has a link to the video I'm talking about.

I'm hesitant to post as I'm not the expert (and seems like I always overlook something and/or are corrected), but I just did this seal replacement job and it's for oil leaks. I believe the OP is asking about a coolant leak, for which I do not believe either of these seals/o-rings will address.

Again, having just completed both this and the timing belt/water pump replacement, my guess as to this leak would either be the water pump/seal, or the bypass pipe o-ring (long shot but I was getting a similar leak from there to the passenger side of the engine).

whilst doing my timing belt. I had one mystery bolt for the compressor that had me stumped.

this makes so much sense now. Now to find that bolt.........

Someone (I think in one of those two threads) actually points right to it, in a photo.
