Hello everyone! I recently bought a 2015 Tundra 1794 Edition that came supercharged. It has the Magnuson Magnum TVS2650 S/C. I would like to install a cold air intake on it. From what I have read, I am seeing that I already have a cold air intake on it. I don't have pictures but this is a part number I found "PP-TD40" on the side of the box. Everything I am seeing is saying that it is a cold air intake system. I am also seeing that it does not have a cold air intake system on it. I am in a predicament here. It looks to be OEM out of the factory and not aftermarket. Black box, square, just doesn't have that typical 'cone shaped filter' on it. I know that some cold air intakes are square filters. So my question is, has anyone ever been able to find a cold air intake for these engines that are made for the S/C? I would like to go up to a Stage 2 cold air intake. Preferably no tuning needed but it won't stop me from doing it if I find the right one. I want less air restriction than what it has now and as childish as it sounds, I want the whine to be a little louder. Not sure if that is achievable on the TVS system since it is different than the twin screw S/C. Any help and clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome, and congrats on the rig. Lots info on this and yes that airbox you have the best option. It’s also properly sized for the maf sensor etc so changing it would do more harm than good. Your best bet is to add an afe dry filter and do the SABM mod also. This will gain both more sound and better flow. Lots of info in the supercharger thread. And yes I also have a supercharger so speaking from experience.

Awesome, thank you!! I am new to the S/C world. Very familiar with turbos but not S/C. I understand getting the AFE dry filter but what about the SABM? I know that stands for "stock air box mod" but is the best way to search for that mod? Is it a whole different box? Is it something from AFE?

Is the AFE dry filter still the square filter or is the cone shaped one and does it just fit into the pipe with the new box?

Still flat square filter just not oil to gunk up the maf sensor. Also available are more boost options like pulley etc but that’s later lets get the stuff first lol

So from what I just watched, for the SABM, you literally get like a 3" pipe, cut another hole in your air box and fender, assemble it all back together, and you are good to go? Seems wack but I love the "redneck ingenuity" lol

The Wix 49010 filter is also popular.

I used a piece of 3" silicone tube for my SABM and put some rubber edge trim around the holes I cut just to class it up a little, but yea, you just make 2 holes and stick a tube in there. Pretty simple

Your truck is already super charged I am pretty sure you won’t see any improvements by going with a different air filter in non supercharged trucks they make no noticeable differences

I would just roll with what you have and save the money
