TRD Lift Kit on "stop sale on the TRD lift kit due to a tool failure"

Hey,

I was scheduled to get the TRD lift kit installed on my new Tundra and the dealer said this. " I was unaware Toyota has put a stop sale on the TRD lift kit due to a tool failure (Thats used to install kit). Stop sale got issued on May14th and prohibits us from the sale and installation of the kit."

I can't find anything on this so I figured you'd all know if this is accurate or not. Thanks!

 

Part # 11410-F9160 is defective and needs to be redesigned.

I was told it's the spring compressor. Apparently the current one was having the teeth crack with the TRD springs.

Was told when I picked up new truck on Friday that the new jaws are approved . All the faulty tooling ( compressor jaws ) have to be returned before new updated tooling is released to dealers . I have a kit, wheels and tires waiting so I’m asking questions. Especially after waiting months for the truck !

 

Did you end up getting this installed or are you still waiting?

 

I have been waiting for this kit to come back into stock for a while now.

I talked to my dealer today about it, they said it's available and they can have it in 3-5 days but they're saying it's "discontinued" and don't know anything about the spring issue with the stop sale. I educated them a bit and I guess i'll have to check back once you can actually buy it.

 

There are at least 6 new tundras with the factory lift on the lot in the tiny market of Santa Fe NM. I am surprised they are not available everywhere.

 

Thats impressive, I havent seen one on the lot in the northeast yet but i'm sure they're around. We're just talking about the lift kit itself though.
