I had my windshield replaced and whatever adhesive they used doesn't hold my toyota camera in place. I called my local toyota dealer and they have no idea what us used by the factory. Anyone have issues like this? I've got the glass installers heading out to have a look. So far they have sent low grade " technicians " out.

3M double sided adhesive tape will fix that right up.

That. I would suggest the heavy duty or extreme. And be sure to clean the crap out of both surfaces with alcohol.

I've found the VHB 3m works well for windshields

It appears that toyota doesn't sell the double sided tape that's used. So, the glass company has been tasked with ordering another camera. Toyota to install. From what the glass company tells me this has been a problem, and the only solution has been a new camera. Amazing.

You've been given the solution several times above.

Yup. Failures of adhesion are mostly due to improper surface preparation. 3M VHB is great.

That's not a fix. That's a bandaid. The installers are ordering a new camera for Toyota to install. The windshield installers tell me the only fix is a new camera. If that's what it takes I'm game. No need to patch it up when the job should be done right, or should have been in the first place.

So every windshield replacement will require a new camera? Sounds like you should find a new glass place

Could be. Seems they could have sent someone that knows their job, but that's the decision they made. I agree that there is high enough quality adhesive out there, just as was indicated on this post. But it's not up to me to do the repair. ( yet)

Toyota sells a replacement base plate, let me know if it comes with additional two sided stick pads, I know the original dcam did.

I used Gorilla heavy duty double sided tape for Easy Pass and radar detector on my windshields. Has held up for 10+ years.

I replaced my wife's review mirror on her Honday a couple years ago. Got adhesive kit from Honda Parts, it was a very thin epoxy mix which has held up well for a couple years so far in North Carolina Sun / Heat.
