Boy OH Boy ....... did I waste hours and made a STUPID MOVE !


Actually it's a task I didn't do that was stupid. I usually watch youtube to understand the 'ins n outs' of something I have never done before. Makes complete sense ..... right


I bought a retractable bed step for ebay or a vendor who sell the same at almost 2x's . This for my 2020 Limited DC .

the instructions say to tape up body work, carefully remove bumper top trim. CAREFUL THE CLIPS WILL SNAP !


To access the bolts that need removal.


WRONG ! ! !


ALL I really needed to do was take my 4" cut-off grinder and cut 3 spots and use the stock bracket. I'd have been done in 20minutes rather than the frickon' 3+ hours trying to carefully preserve the plastic broken clips.

I'll get my 4" grinder e/w a cutoff wheel and make the Stock Toyota Bracket - TRIMMED OUT in about 10 minutes. NONE of this carefully remove bumper trim and Snap those tabs of ..... That fuk'n . . . . Bull Shit

How sturdy are the eBay types? I’ve been looking at them but worry that it won’t last well with my fat 250 lb self.

The Amp Research one looks WAY more sturdy but it’s dang near $400.

 

That’s how I did mine. I cheated. Bought my step from Toyota.

 

the photos are the same in almost all advertised.
at $60.oo IDGAS ..... as long as it works
my ebay one has two large holes for the 2 FRAME / TOW hitch bolts and should be fine.

ebay or other dealers ....... so who's to say which wich is witch ???

The amp attaches to the SAME as the ebay . the amp bracket is different than the ebay version.
The step IS THE SAME
