Howdy, new member here. 24 (04/24) Limited Non-Hybrid with the long bed

I'm interested in making this a part-time overlander, while still keeping it somewhat reasonable as it is my daily driver (with the exception of the Harley). I came from a 2015 Tacoma which was an absolute beast, but it was time for something new.

I currently have a Bulletpoint Rubigrid and HAM radio ready to go in.

    Here's my idea.

In the Tacoma, I killed my battery while camping using the lightbar for too long (I know, I know). I want to run a second battery to power the radio, lights, basically everything that I add. I've seen solar panels that mount to the hood and actually look pretty good. I'm thinking of using that to keep the second battery topped up.

Does anyone have any experience with either the panels or running a second battery?

Good looking truck. I did the upgrade from a '13 Taco to a '23 Tundra. I've almost finished the install of my Yaesu FTM-400XDR, just need a new PL-259 and to make the electrical connections.

I have, however, I live in Texas and use my sunroof often. I dont think I'll be using a roof rack with this truck.
